Turns out GLs interest in animals was at least slightly academic.

TBH the most impressive bit of this isn’t so much the research findints themselves (which is fairly basic zoology and much of it buried behind paywalls) but unlike other similar research most of which is carried out by monitoring the animal in its natural habitat, the Japanese profs appear to have managed to successfully get 30 cats to attend the equivalent of a high school/university class (which is equivalent to about two 6th form classes or maybe a first year undergraduate group at many unis).
Then again because previous folk who should have known a lot more about physics fucked up badly a few years ago; there are rather more cats (which can withstand higher levels of radiation than dogs, pigs and humans) than young people in Japan (over a quarter of Japanese are now in late middle age or seniors).
Maybe they offered each participant a years supply of catnip for attending :lol_big:

they probably did, and in 10 years time half the computer games will end up being designed or coded by Japanese cats and no one outside JP would even notice :laugh_at:
I don’t mind Japanese pussy so not to worry lol.
