Interesting read – didn’t realise that mislabelled fish was so common in USA.
Not heard of it happening as much in Northern Europe; but the EU may well be much stricter about this (it was one reason many in UK coastal areas voted for Brexit as there has been 40 years of paranoia that other coastal nations are “stealing the British Fish” – and there is already loads of coastal radar and AIS monitoring by Coastguards due to paranoia about Soviet U-boats. Also Europe-wide consumers seem more prepared to pay for ethically caught and correctly labelled fish; as that can stop the folk who eat them getting ill)

You can go to a market in the Caribbean and stuff will be labeled as something really rare like red drum or red snapper but it’ll still have the head on and it’ll be a grouper…
Seems like we’re taking steps in the right direction though.
