Hi my name is Robert and I suffer with severe Fibromyalgia. Does anyone know of a doctor in the UK that would prescribe cannabis on private prescription so I can legally go to Holland and obtain it?

Welcome to the forum my friend. Sadly I don’t know of any doctor that could or would prescribe cannabis in the UK as it’s a controlled drug which according to the law right now has no medicinal benefits. I believe sativex is the only cannabis based medication available to be prescribed in the UK and I can imagine getgting any doctor to prescribe it to anyone will involve putting a gun to his head.

I think u are in the criteria to get it now in my country switzerland where it is given alrerady to people having mucoviscidose diseases.
cuz any person being able to give reasons why cannabis is helping him in his life can ask to get a cannabis treatment in any form.

I just was monday sent from my doctor who is caring me since 25 years to a pneumologue for getting cannabis on prescription and obtain invalid insurance cuz am no more able to work.

in my case, i doesen’t need cannabis flowers , as i have stop smoking cannabis last summer, but THC/CBD in a spray form like the asma sprays. The name of that drug medicine is SATIVEX). As 2 days ago the lungs doctor said (sorry for the bad english, these lungs specialists doctors has certainly other names), my lungs are working at 30% of a normal lung capacity and said it is sure that with these values they gonna give me 100% invalide insurance (monthly money) and my cannabis precription as i am unable to stop my freebase consumption, but under the effect of cannabis i know i can reduce my consumption.

A drug therapy for me doesnt come in subject as i already have been 6 years clean and that i am absoluterly not ready to sztop completly my consumption.

i just read that for Fibromyalgia disease, they exist a medicine with cannabis pills against the pain called “Cesamet”.

SO IT IS ALREADY KNOWN THAT CANNABIS IS HELPING YOU AND IF U DONT SUFFER OF LUNGS PROBLEMS , THERE IS NO REASON THEY WOULDN’T PRSCRIBES YOU IT.

What i don’t know is if strangers can easaly come here and receive a such prescription-.

The problem with UK is our doctors usually cannot issue the prescription in the first place as nothing other than Sativex is currently on the approved list of medicines.

A patient seeking treatment in CH or any other country has to clear whatever short term visa procedures are applicable for immigrants, as well as comply with whatever the health service rules are. (that applys for EU countries as well, so-called “health tourism” is not as easy at its claimed to be anywhere in Europe.

Across the continent (including CH and NO) both the public and private health services will assist and they usually have English speaking staff if you cannot speak the local languages, but a lot of things that British folk would expect to be directly “free at source” are dealt with by private health insurers (this is the case in NL) and these insurers can (for a local citizen) even dictate the treatment they get! A foreign patient paying privately should usually get whatever treatment s/he wants but it would potentially involve extra costs on top of what they may have expected to pay in their home county.

Also travel by seriously unwell people to CH, NL, BE etc is all monitored by UK security services because these countries are not just “liberal about drugs” but a destination for human euthanasia. But if you are obviously not bringing anything illegal back and planning on returning alive that should not be a problem.

Please let me know if you find out, cos so far your fucked, I suffer the same thing and doctors do fuck all to help, plenty of tramadol that’s about it. Otherwise you have to sneak about to buy weed or grow your own

It will not be prescribed here because it’s illegal, its only just been cleared in the uk that fibromyalgia is now a disease
I go and pay for it in Holland because it’s far better smoke but not f you run the risk of losing it on your way home

And dude good luck I’ve been trying for 4years now to get help for this but yet the doctor would rather me be on 7differnt tablets and off work for 3years than give me something that actually helps
