What is Heroin or Smack? Heroin
Heroin is a painkiller. The brown powder starts life as the milky sap of the opium poppy Papaverum Somniferum. The sap is collected and dried to form a gum. The gum is washed and becomes opium. Opium contains two painkilling alkaloids, codeine and morphine. Morphine that has been extracted from opium can be further refined to create diamorphine, or heroin. Weight for weight, heroin is about forty times more powerful than raw opium. It is one of the most powerful painkillers known, and will cause tolerance and a withdrawal syndrome relatively quickly.
Heroin is an analgesic drug with depressant qualities. As the drug takes effect, breathing and heart rate decrease. Most people feel 'a warm glow' when the drug first starts to take effect, and any anxiety or concerns become insignificant. This experience is followed by a period when the user is conscious but looks like they're falling asleep. Once this time has passed, the user is able to interact normally with other people, although to them their experience will have taken on a dream-like quality.
The first time someone uses it they'll usually notice how they just feel a bit sleepy, and warm, and a little itchy. They'll usually vomit a fair bit, too.
For some people, once is enough and they'll never use it again.
Other people go back to it again...and again...and then again...and then after a while they find that they keep going back to it, having another little toot, noticing how comfortable it makes them feel...wrapped up in cotton wool...all their worries and anxieties going away for, well, time...and by then, already, the habit is becoming pretty well established.
Ashes to ashes, funk to funky...
Nobody sets out to get a heroin habit. Everybody believes they're in control, right up to the moment they realise that they've been kidding themselves. Recreational heroin use is possible, but it's ever so easy to sway over the line between occasional and habitual without really noticing. You're tickling the tail of the dragon...every so often just splitting a bag with someone else, getting stoned with your mates, and then your occasional use easily become a £10 bag every week. It's only a tenner, right? And then, after a while, you get to wondering why should you be straight on Sunday when you can be stoned again? And why shouldn't the weekend start on Friday night, after all? It's not like you've got a habit or anything. And it sets you up nicely for the weekend...
It's all too easy to slip into a mid-week toot. After all, you deserve it. And it won't hurt, just this once.
The important thing to remember about tickling dragon's tails is that you can only do it for so long before they turn round and bite you. Hard. And they don't like to let go, once they've got you. And it hurts. It hurts like hell.
Regular heroin use will cause a physical dependence. Period. No ifs, no buts. It's nothing to do with 'will power' or being 'hardcore' or any other crazy thing. You stick your hand in the fire, it burns. You take heroin regularly, you get dependent. Once the last hit wears off, you get ill until you have some more of the drug. You get sick. You get crazy. You hurt. Some people dabble with heroin for years before getting a habit, others pick one up in a few months. Slowly, subtly, your pattern of use changes until, one day, you wake up…and you aren't in control any more.
We know Major Tom's a junkie...
And then you've got one of the most obvious motivations for carrying on using. Avoiding withdrawal. If you can't get yourself sorted out, you're going to get ill. You start to feel the beginnings of withdrawal. Runny nose, aching muscles. Diarrhea. Forget about sleeping, the pain of withdrawal will be with you twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, for anything from three days to a couple of weeks. For some people it can be months before they feel right, and get back to 'normal' patterns of sleeping and eating.
Of course, if you want to avoid the withdrawal, you just need a little more brown...
And of course by then, you're mostly only hanging out with people who also use it. Every other person you know is doing it. They're phoning you, knocking on the door, dropping in, serving up...helping you out...easing the pain...sorting you out...making it all better agin...back on the merry-go-round...
But that's not you. You won't get a habit. It's not like you inject or anything.
I'm never going to inject, so I'll never get a habit, right?
It doesn't matter whether you inject heroin or smoke it. If you use it regularly you will start to need more to feel the effects. Every time you use it you'll be reinforcing the belief that doing heroin feels good. You'll be learning how to enjoy the effects of the drug. You'll develop a tolerance, need more, and pretty soon you'll need to take it just to get straight.
Just this once…
Really, strange as it seems, many people who get a habit for the first time don't even realise what they've done. It's not like smack's a problem. It's just that they feel like they've got the 'flu if they don't have it. And they don't want to travel too far from a toilet. The moment that realisation strikes you could almost draw a gigantic light bulb going on above their head with a "pop!"...swiftly followed by gentle waves of "oh shit"iness as right behind the realisation, waves of nausea herald the onset of the withdrawal starting to take hold, and the urgent need to take more smack becoming an overwhelming priority.
oh shit, indeed.
Fuck it. It's just a needle, right?
Some people just leave it there. They see a future littered with debt, damage, despair, and the detritus of broken homes, hearts and hope. A constant lurching cycle from stoned to stark withdrawal, from buzzed to busted, and back again. They see the invariable destiny of that choice, and choose a different one. And some people don't have that vision. They don't see beyond the end of the next hit. Or they see where it's going, and get stoned to avoid how that feels inside. Over the last twenty years, heroin use has increasingly been something that people start off by smoking, chasing or having the occasional boot. It's rare to find people still smoking heroin four or five years down the road. It usually comes down to a simple matter of economics. I've got a limited amount of money, and the important thing in my life is brown. I'm sitting with two half-gram bags in front of me...two days before I'm getting more cash... and weighing up the options...if I can afford to smoke enough brown to take the edge off the withdrawal, I've got enough to get stoned if I inject it. Fuck it. It's just a needle, right? Nurses do this to people every day. It's probably cleaner than smoking it, huh? Injecting can cause complications like abscesses, septicemia and the transmission of blood-borne viruses like HIV and Hepatitis B and C.
Some of these are just very unpleasant. Others can kill. Injecting anything is a really effective way to introduce organisms into your body. If a recent injecting site is sore, red or inflamed you should definitely get it checked by a medically qualified person. Especially so if you have a temperature, or any other signs of infection. Sure, it's personal. And it might save your arm, your leg or even your life...
And so I face, the final curtain...
When people talk about 'overdose' they're often talking about drugs with depressant effects, like heroin. People overdose when they take more than their body can tolerate. Overdosing with a depressant drug can cause respiratory failure, loss of consciousness, and ultimately death. It's much easier to overdose on heroin if you inject it instead of smoking it. Maybe because sometimes the heroin is more pure than usual, or you've not used for a few days and your tolerance has dropped, or you're also using drugs like alcohol, methadone, temazepam or other tranquillisers, or someone else makes up the hit...
If you're with other people who will call an ambulance for you then another drug can be given to you at the hospital to bring you back out. If you're on your own, you're on your own.
...but then again...
Even when you're not injecting, regular heroin use can mean lifestyle choices that will quickly affect your general health. It's not unusual for someone with an established heroin habit to find themselves using £25-£80 worth of the drug each day. If you're spending all your money on brown, chances are you're running up debts, not eating and not paying the rent. When you run out of your own money you'll find yourself making choices that seemed unimaginable last year, or the year before.
Doctorin' the house?
This information refers to the UK drug treatment system. Seeking help from a GP, community drug team or drug dependence unit could relieve some of the symptoms. Medication can be given to help to alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal, and other support may be available. Longer term users may be offered a substitute opioid prescription, usually methadone. Some people swear by methadone, others swear at it. It's usually prescribed as a liquid to drink, although it can also be prescribed as an injectable ampoule (or a tablet, which you shouldn't even consider injecting). It's clean, it can stop you withdrawing for up to 36 hours and it costs a lot less than smack. Just like heroin and other opiates (from the poppy) or opioids (synthetic), if you take methadone regularly you'll become dependent.
A word or two for female heroin users
Women who use heroin regularly can experience irregular menstrual cycles, as heroin use can suppress ovulation. It's still possible to become pregnant, and if your cycle is irregular you might not notice for some time. If you do have sex with men, it's important to use contraception to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Using condoms for penetrative sex will protect you and your sexual partner against the transmission of Hepatitis B, HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Let's be 'avin you...
In the UK heroin use is illegal. Heroin, or diamorphine hydrochloride, is controlled by the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 as a Class A, Schedule 2 drug.
Other Class A drugs include LSD and cocaine.12…2021

What are YOUR Favorite Opiates? What is your favorite opiate(s)? Mine would have to be Hydrocodone. Iv done oxy and heroin but something about norcos that are just so relaxing. Its like getting a hug from God.12…45

Fentanyl I've been addicted to opiates (started with hydrocodone, then oxycodone, then oxycontin (didn't like it), then a bit of snort of heroin, only to finally find fentanyl and really love it. Problem is it's very expensive and I've done quite a bit to make my drug ends meet. I'm posting here because I'd like advice. The reason why I do it is (okay, the high) but mainly because I feel like superwoman when I'm on opiates. I suffer from bi-polar & depression & anxiety. On opiates, I actually feel what normal people would consider, well, normal. I have energy to do things, I am reliable and can keep my promises/appointments, I am helpful, I don't mind doing chores, in fact, I'm more apt to help others when I'm on opiates then not. I've been told what I really should be doing is adderal. (sp?) I've never tried and it's very hard to get. My question is to you all do you think based on why I do it mainly and what I like about it, is that the best bet for me? I've heard most people's reactions to fent is a relaxed feeling. I get an "up" feeling like speed when I do opiates. It's always affected me that way. That is the "high I am seeking. I'd love to do something legal and cheap to be able to get the same effects as opiates do to my body. Does anyone have any suggestions? Legal and/or illegal? I'm open to any and all suggestions. <3 Thank you!

Heroin Revisited Thread So last year I made a pretty controversial thread on Heroin where I got a lot of people telling me not to do it. Now I don't think this was bad advice but I do think it's bad that people seem to have this big issue with Heroin yet I can honestly say Cannabis, Mephedrone (brief time, got out quick due to depression which I've never suffered which lasted 4-5 weeks, never suffered it since) and Ketamine (ESPECIALLY) were much darker and more evil substances to my mind. If people are saying a straight DO NOT TAKE HEROIN no other information than it'll fuck you up or whatever then they should say the same for Ketamine and the rest IMO.
Ketamine ravages your body and mind worse than Heroin IMO. I know some people get fully addicted to Opiates and things go wrong and then you really have fucked it but I was aware of this and never let it get to that. Also stimulants seem to turn people into much nastier evil aggressive people IMO, I've seen and am seeing a lot of people falling into a deep spiral and mental health issues of chronic Mephedrone abuse in my town due to the place being flooded with the shit... I sort of feel bad as one of the biggest dealers I know (guy who had a heart attack, I made a thread about and who continues to take it and isn't the same guy I knew 7 years ago) I gave it to him for the first time when it was legal.. (He isn't my friend anymore due to being a psycho and I do not want to be associated with his fucked up lifestyle). Going back to stims vs opiates I find opiates generally tend to make the chronic addicts thieves and liars rather than aggressive angry people..
If you do make it out of any of the addictions and get clean at least your body isn't ruined on Opiates (not saying it can't be as some people use in stupid filthy ways) as like stimulants and ketamine.
Right now I have no desire to take the stuff and haven't for quite some time. Would I ever take it again? Not really fussed, don't like being around the stuff because it just tells your mind to do it and the stuff makes me lazy and unproductive.
Worst thing about Opiates over other drugs though are you really cannot push them in combinations with other depressants or you will die from being unable to breathe.
I was taking it regularly for 1.5 years by the way... Spent 4 weeks completely mashed on it before and was able to go through withdrawals pretty easily without feeling a bit shit for 3-4 days (note as well I could walk 5 mins round the corner and buy a ten bag any hour of the day). Just have to know not to fall completely reliant on this shit and be very careful if you ever drink Alcohol or take other potent downers with it. Another thing is the high can be very deceiving in this OD sense, sometimes you get this super nice head feeling where you get high and feel nicer and nicer, other times you don't get that so you keep dosing and then you end up feeling sick for 6-8 hours! These times where you are not getting the feeling are the dangerous ones as you'll overdo it.
Also if you ever do plan to take it just smoke it, snorting is better but it 100 times more dangerous if you aren't being careful.
Anyway here's to a Smack free lifestyle, it wasn't that bad and I do not feel damaged unlike how cannabis and ketamine have made me feel through those phases.
I've pretty much tried all the classes of drugs there are to try and am overly experienced in them all so now I would prefer to pass on knowledge from my experiences to help people and have no real desire to pursue any other drugs to any unhealthy or frequent use at all. I believe a good healthy psychedelic once or twice a year is definitely beneficial for the brain.

Heroin, just keeps taking I don't mean to be a kind banana here but I think it is important for me to at least write this thread, if nothing else.
A sort while ago I was informed that my ex girlfriend was found dead today. That is the only info I have been given at the moment but at the same time, it is all the info I need. Although likely, I do not know that her death was a direct consequence of heroin, but I do know that it was heroin that led her down this path.
As many of you know that I was a heroin addict, and that is how I came to be in her company. We shared much in common, especially drugs, to the extent that it was damaging for us to be together so we made the decision to split up and try our best to not talk again until we were both clean and stable. Unfortunately this never happened for her. This has always been a thorn in my side because I liked her so much.A few months ago when I created a new FB account I had a message and a friend request from her asking if we could be friends again etc but sadly I ignored it and now it is too late.
Heroin took much from me and her, our jobs our flat, or TV, DVD's and our dignity, but now it has taken something that can never be replaced. She truly was a wonderful person.123

What is Methadone? Methadone
Hardly a drug normally associated with the party scene, methadone deserves a mention because there's just so bloody much of it about now. Methadone is an opioid, a synthetic opiate. Like the better-know opiates, morphine and diamorphine (heroin), methadone is a powerful analgesic, or painkiller. Although methadone is still occasionally used for pain relief, it's far more common to find it being used to 'treat' people who are physically dependent on heroin. In the UK, the number of people using heroin has been steadily increasing. Methadone use has also been increasing.
Treatment, as in making you better?
Well, not exactly, no. Just stay with the idea for a moment that 'drug addiction' is more than a pharmacological problem. It's not just about the chemical, the drug. The drug does tend to play a pretty significant part, and yet it's never the whole story. Someone taking methadone instead of heroin can definitely let go of their dependent heroin habit. The methadone stopos the 'withdrawal syndrome'. If I'm heroin dependent, and I'm withdrawing, and I take methadone...it stops. The methadone will get rid of cramps, and nausea, and vomiting, and diarrhea, and all the other nasties that make a heroin habit unpleasant. If I keep on taking it, I don't get ill. If I stop taking it, I get...errrr...well...an opioid withdrawal syndrome.
Treatment, as in getting you hooked?
Well, you don't have to put it quite like that. It's true that regular, dependent methadone use does of course fit neatly into the 'addiction' model described in our 'reducing the risks' pages. And methadone dependence has some benefits over heroin dependence, for some people. If you're living in the UK and can get methadone on the NHS it won't cost you all the money you can raise each day just to stay on top of the habit. Even if you pay for a private consultation and 'script it'll be a lot cheaper than the brown. Methadone is available as a liquid - linctus or methadone mixture - which is swallowed, meaning you don't need to inject. Some people of course do inject, and injectable ampoules are sometimes prescribed. Tablets are also available. Like many other medicines some of these prescribed drugs are diverted and become available illegally.
Treatment, as in getting stoned?
The guidelines for prescribing methadone indicate that enough should be given to prevent physical withdrawal symptoms - when you are prescribed methadone it is not supposed to give you a buzz, or make you feel stoned, or however else you describe it.
The physical effects of methadone are similar to other opiates (like heroin); suppressed cough reflex, contracted pupils and drowsiness. Regular use will cause constipation. Some methadone users feel sick when they first use the drug. If you are a woman using methadone you may not have regular periods - but you are still able to conceive.
Methadone is a long-acting opioid; it has an effect for up to 36 hours and can remain in your body for several days.
In terms of 'treating' an opioid withdrawal syndrome the medication is very attractive to many prescribers - it last a long time, is stable in liquid form and is cheap to produce.
Most treatment services that offer prescribing will want to manage a 'reducing' dose of methadone. The idea behind a reducing script is that you stabilise the 'patient', then gradually reduce the dose until they aren't using methadone anymore.
This style of 'community detox' doesn't work for everybody. The people for whom it works least well are the people who 'top-up' their ever-decreasing medication with either illegally-bought methadone, or heroin.
Some people see little point in drawing it all out, and find it easier to reduce or just stop using heroin without ever taking methadone. Methadone's primary benefit to the user is that it manages physical opiate dependence legitimately. In the UK, it's very difficult to find anyone who will prescribe heroin, or morphine, to treat opiate dependence.
Treatment, as in safe?
Not as such. For several years now, methadone has been the cause of more accidental poisonings (overdoses) in the UK than heroin. It's really worth reading that last sentence again...
Methadone is a very potent drug, and individual doses vary for each person. What's prescribed for my friend could kill me, easily. If you are using methadone that you have bought illegally be aware that you could overdose on an amount that would seem 'normal' to somebody else - especially if you are not using opiates regularly, and have a low 'tolerance' (it doesn't take very much to affect you). Differences in tolerance are caused by how often you use a drug. If you are using methadone regularly - prescribed or not - taking a higher dose than normal, or using other depressant drugs (like alcohol, heroin, tranquillisers or sleeping tablets) at the same time could cause you to overdose. If you do lose consciousness and vomit you may well choke.
If you become drowsy you should not try to drive or operate machinery - you could easily have an accident.
Methadone is very dangerous for children. An ordinary daily dose for an opioid-dependent adult is likely to kill a child. If you store methadone at home it should be kept where children are not able to get to it - in a high cupboard, not by your bed or in the fridge. If a child does swallow methadone they should be taken to the Accident and Emergency Department at your local hospital immediately - let the doctors know what has been taken, and if possible at what time and what quantity.
Treatment, as in legal, right?
Sometimes. Methadone is controlled by the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 as a Class A, Schedule 2 drug.
Other Class A drugs include heroin and cocaine.12…1819
Weight of pure Heyyyy
Just wondering and i have a feeling its a silly question, but is pure or close to pure Heroin light in weight... say visually it appears to be Four points but weighs two then would that indicate the level of purity eg: Lack of cutters
how to get the most out of Targin? Hi. I live in Australia and was prescribed Targin which is Oxycodone/naloxone. sadly you don't get much of a high from them because basically, naloxone works by blocking opioid drugs, such as heroin and oxycodone, from attaching to opioid receptors in the brain. is there any way around this? is this naloxone stuff only in the coating?
Looking in Punta Gorda, FL Still kind of new to the Punta Gorda area, having quite a hard time finding legit shit. Between garbage or just plain fake shit from some of the people around here. I have also seen the stigma, like oh my you use Heroin. Yes, I'm a fucking Heron addict and I fucking love her, been this way since I met her and will and have no desire to ever quit as I have managed it for many many years, and life just sucks without her in it. Really looking for a safe steady connect. I am not a cop and shit, you can come to my work and verify. I am just dying for some decent shit without a run around. Got plenty of cash and am an honest person, which seems to be had to come by here so far. Hit me up. I prefer the h but will deal with the f, high tolerance.
I am originally from PA , before that RI and never seen such an issue getting anything in my life. Please anyone in Punta Gorda , FL with something decent hit me up here and we can go from there.
Thanks,
