expired medication-is it still usable? Does anyone have any scientific knowledge of the effectiveness of benzos after expiration? My new doc won't give me any until I'm stable on another medication, however I have an old prescription that I would like to use. The problem is that it expired 7 years ago. Yeah, I know, dumb idea, blah, blah, blah. I just want a straight answer from someone who knows what they're talking about.
I have 15 mg serax (oxazepam) capsules that expired in 2007. I need something and don't necessarily care when it expired. What I care about is how well it will work. Will it be stronger, weaker, toxic, pointless? I can decide whether or not to take it once I have the info to make an informed decision. If I can't get the info, I'll just go by how badly I want/need it and then see what happens.
Supplements Does anyone here take any vitamins or supplements and if so which ones do you think truly benefit you in any way?
For me, vitamin d magnesium turmeric and potent vit b 12 pills have all had significantly positive effects on my overall health.
Long term side effects from Anti-Psychotic medication So I've been on anti-psychotic medication for a few years now and unfortunately I am going to be on them for a few more years to come, I've read all the side effects and to my memory I don't think I've experienced any of the side effects listed but I was wondering if anyone knows about some of the long term side effects, if anyone has experienced them, has stories and thinks I could be at risk? The side effects I know are nasty as **** I honestly don't want to take this medication but due to mental health problems and dealing with the ****wit drug pushing psychiatrists (who are almost as bad as cops) I have to see since being discharged from a short hospital visit I almost don't really have a choice.
Basically for the past 3 years I have been on and off Seroquel XR, Invega and Zyprexa. 2010 to mid 2011 I was on 10-15mg of zyprexa (can't remember the exact dose something like that) which was reduced by mid 2011 and I was put on 100mg Seroquel XR which was reduced by the end of the year. Due to a psychotic episode In early 2012 I believe partly caused by withdrawal from seroquel xr I was put on Seroquel XR again 800mg and 6mg Invega. I'm now off the Invega which was discontinued in october but still on Seroquel XR currently on 400mg. I'm meant to be off the Seroquel Xr by January next year weening off slowly but I could be on it for longer knowing how my psychiatrists operate.
Once I'm off the Seroquel Xr I will have been on anti-psychotic medication for nearly 4 years. I've been thinking of weening myself off but I think it could be risky without professional help and my psychiatrists refuse to prescribe me the weaker tablets to ween myself off. So yeah If anyone knows much about long term side effects from anti-psychotics, has had experiences taking these med's for long peroids of time or has experienced long term side effects, knows of anyone's experiences or thinks I could be at risk please let me know would be much appreciated.
Cheers
I've experienced the usual with taking anti-psychotics like weight gain, drowsiness etc I'm more so worried about serious long term side effects after taking these meds at high dosages for long periods of time and permanent side effects.12
CO-Codamol advice….? How would one go about extracting the Codeine from 'co-codamol' into pure codeine (getting rid of all the paracetomal etc),
CO-Codamol contains 500mg of paracetamol and 3mg of codeine, Is there any method to getting rid of the paracetamol and being left with only codeine :S12
Taking Methylphenidate Responsibly Before I start, I should say, I am prescribed 20mg methylphenidate SR, and 10mg methylphenidate IR tablets. Along with 250mg Quetiapine, and 300mg of Bupropion SR. I have always had some difficulty saying 'no' to illicit substances, but now that I have a prescription of Ritalin, I cannot, and I repeat, CANNOT help myself from taking a few too many. I know what this could lead to, and I guess I'm asking for any tips on how to quit this bad habit..
Thanks.
amphetamine alternatives for motivation/tiredness hi, not sure what forum would be most appropriate so please bear with me!
Over the past few years i have been taking speed on quite a regular basis but its got to the point where i'm spending too much money on it and i hate the paranoia and weirdness that come with it....i much prefer the real me to be honest BUT i suffer from pretty bad fatigue and i find it really hard to have any motivation or stamina...for example today i could be making quite a bit of money but i just can't be bothered without speed....the speed enabled me to fit everything into the day!
I could literally sleep for 16 hours a day and not feel any better(have been tested for everything by my Doctors, and there's nothing wrong with me, just a naturally tired person-so the doctor won't prescribe me anything)
is there ANY decent alternatives out there?12
Lied to the doctor! I've been getting 60 hydrocodone 7.5 mg for about 2 months now from orthopedic doctor. Prinary care doctor gave me a referral to pain specialist so I visited him and did NOT tell him about the ortho. Pain doc. gave me nothing but saw that I was getting Rx from ortho doc. I made like I didn't know but the pain doc. prescribed no pain meds. I visited him on a Fri. and still got the ortho. to refill the hydrocodone the following Mon. No one has called from either office and the ortho. office this morning verified my appt. on this Fri. I requested my weekly refill of pain meds too. Will that ortho. doc give me my pain meds today? Doesn't SEEM like anything is amiss here...
Hydromorphone 500mg in 0.9% sodium chloride, 500ml Ok, ive got a 500ml bag of 500mg of hydromorphone in .9% sodium chloride to be used with a bolus. Let's say the bolus or whateve has disappeared...in what ways can the product be used besides IV? Can it be used (like it is) for IM, oral, and rectal? Also, out of pure curiosity, what is the street price? (def not letting this awesomeness leave my hands)
Dihydrocodeine: The right choice? I've just today been prescribed dihydrocodeine's for sever back pain, but I've taken them rekki style in the past and got some horrid addiction withdrawals. I've spoken about them with my mum, as she is prescribed stuff a FUCK LOAD stronger for her back, she said she would go days without eating and not realise and sleep for 26 hours +! I'm a bit hesitant to go on them, with previous experience and watching my mum on them. Is/are there less addictive and less body mullering things out there? Ideally something with the painkilling strength of High grade heroin, but without the other shit.....
Any ideas?
