Is there under the ocean waves?
The holy Qur’an referred to a new scientific discovery that is in the deep of oceans there are waves and dark, let us read …
Scientists discovered that in the deep of oceans there are deep waves which are different from surface waves. Allah Almighty makes the parable of deeds of atheists and disbelievers as a man who lives in the deep of the sea where he is covered by a layer of deep waves that is covered by a layer of surface waves which is covered by darkness, this likeningis to demonstrate how those atheists by their deeds are far from the light of Allah (following principles and orders of Islam).
Allah Almighty says “ ((40) Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea which is covered by waves, upon which are waves, over which are clouds - darknesses, some of them upon others. When one puts out his hand [therein], he can hardly see it. And he to whom Allah has not granted light - for him there is no light
Glory to Allah, recent scientists found that discovery in 2007 and they didn’t expect that finding. Who told prophet Mohamed peace be upon him about the deep waves? Allah is the teller who says about Himself: ((26) [He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyon
(27) Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observer

holiday planning for kids in London [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]Unicorn's summer season, the second in its brand new home, has the theme of stories. Taking its cue from the idea that all performance is storytelling, this season explores the ways in which theatre can push the boundaries of telling a tale.
This season reflects the Unicorn's commitment to new writing designed to fire the imaginations of children, families and teachers alike...
During the summer holidays, Greg Banks directs Patrick Shanahan's Oz in an adaptation of a well-love classic.[/FONT]
NL : American teenage girl’s blog post on hardstyle she is from TX but went to NL on an exchange trip. she is of high school age rather than uni (can be confusing as both NL and US say "school" when in British English you might say college/uni) - but at post 16 level as other posts mention that there is no school uniform for some classes (in more ways than one) :crazy_dru

IN / UK – English words which have come from India In todays India these moustaches and beards are still pukka, as is wearing a turban if your religion requires it and I've met Indians who dress like that even in Slough, but you need a license for that cheetah.
Not because its particularly fierce but they are CITES endangered species and the ministry of Environment and Forests doesn't want folk trying to keep them in the call centres and other unsuitable habitats.

EE : üks päev veel (Estonian sea shanty) this is on the youtube profile of the Estonian matey what also uploaded a film of the cargo ship he worked on with a drum and bass soundtrack..

unfortunately my language skills do not stretch to Estonian so had to use Google translate and some bits are missing, the chorus means "just one more day" (they have been working in Havana, Cuba which is a long way from EE - but can now go out on the town). They are also singing that you can get a lot of decent cigars, booze (and possibly also prostitutes) in this country, which tends to compensate for the harsh working conditions on board ship

JP: We are 98.77% chimpanzee
Quote:
We are 98.77% chimpanzee
Recent advances in the study of the human and the chimpanzee genome have revealed just how close the two species are. Differences at the level of the DNA are as low as 1.23%. In other words, we are 98.77% chimpanzee. The genomic difference between the two species is comparable to that between horses and zebras, who differ by about 1.5%.

SIDNEY LUMET DIES: LIGHT UPON LIGHT!? Director Sidney Lumet died yesterday. He was 86.(1) This prose-poem will not tell you chapter and verse about his legendary career which, if you don’t know it, you can read about it. Lumet's published memoir about his life in film, Making Movies (1996), is "extremely light-hearted and infectious in its enthusiasm for the craft of moviemaking itself," writes film-historian Stephen Bowles, "and is in marked-contrast to the tone and style of most of his films. (2) The tone and style of Lumet’s films is serious, honest, and passionate. He was a master of social realism and of portraying morally complex American life and its drama. In a radio interview I heard today Lumet said that each setting, each location, each shoot scene with all the supporting actors, guest stars, producers and director, as well as the entire production crew on hand make for a collectivity, an event, a social scene which he found part of the very raison d’etre for his work, indeed, his life. -Ron Price with thanks to (1) Wikipedia, 10 April 2011 and (2) Stephen E. Bowles, International Dictionary of Films and Filmmakers, The Gale Group Inc., 2001.
Perhaps if I made films, Sidney,
I would make them light-hearted
and infectious like your memoir.
My memoir was serious, honest
and full of the complexity of our
modern world
like your films.
I must say, Sidney, that I hardly even
knew you………I’ve been busy myself
as far back as you were working for..
CBS directing hundreds of episodes of
Danger(‘50–‘55), Mama (‘49–‘57) and
You Are There(‘53-‘57)…..I won’t follow
your career until your death yesterday,
but I would like to know if you ever met
any Baha’is in NY in your many decades.
You are, arguably, in that land of light &
you will, also arguably…continue to play
with light, character, & condition humaine1
in that new country, that oh so mysterious
Kingdom to which you winged your way!?!*2

Russian speakers: Need help on translation. I'm looking for the proper translation of the phrase "Dream is Destiny"
I plugged it into Google Translator, but I'd like a Russian speaker's opinion on it.
