Bad Tech: Biggest Twitter feuds
Twitter is a splendid source of breaking news, humorous musings and mundanities. But its main use is as a verbal boxing ring for celebrity ire, with the great and not-so-good taking on each other and the general public in 140 characters or less…
1. Piers Morgan vs Everybody
The list of celebs having a pop at CNN’s British motor-mouthpiece is extensive. Rio Ferdinand told him, “If I wanted a grammar lesson I’d have gone to @stephenfry not a SACKED editor,” Joey Barton called him an “elitist prat”, Gary Lineker urged him to stay in America – an idea the US didn’t seem too keen on – Lily Allen used Twitter to publicly refuse to go on his show, Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen have both tweeted to tell him he has breasts, while One Direction crowdsourced their army of more than nine-million followers to get “Piers Morgan is smelly” trending worldwide. If you’re on Twitter and haven’t told Piers he’s a cretin, you’re nobody.
2. Giles Coren vs Alice Vincent
Thinking-man’s bus-stop loony, and former T3 columnist, Coren once castigated The Times’ sub-editors for over 1,000 words in an email, but in 2012, when Huffington Post journalist Alice Vincent tweeted that his column was “one step up from a Mumsnet blogpost”, the columnist was more succinct. “Go f*ck yourself, you barren old hag,” he snapped. Vincent’s reply that she was only 23 merited a compromise of sorts: “Well, then, go f*ck yourself you barren young hag. Sorry for the assumption. It was based on your elderly, dessicated [sic] tone.”
3. Anderson Cooper vs “foodie”
People don’t like having their professionalism questioned, especially not when they’ve been up all night having missiles fired at them Silver fox-style confirmed bachelor and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper snapped when one follower – self described “foodie” Pamela Weiss – instructed him to “report a fair story” from the Gaza Strip. Cooper’s riposte? “Spend less time tweeting about coconut flan and more time actually following the news.” Ouch.
4. Bret Easton Ellis vs Kathryn Bigelow
The American Psycho author isn’t afraid to speak his mind, with Twitter “highlights” including wanting to “bang the kid with cerebral palsy” from hit US show Breaking Bad and taking aim at acclaimed director Kathryn Bigelow (Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty), stating she would be “considered a mildly interesting filmmaker if she was a man but since she’s a very hot woman she’s really overrated”. After widespread criticism Ellis responded by saying “follow or unfollow, enjoy it or let it piss you off”, and announced a short break from Twitter (which he, unsurprisingly, did not take).
5. Victoria Coren vs Michael Winner
In 2011, when Giles’s sister, broadcaster and poker whiz Victoria complained about sexist posts from the film director-turned-insurance salesman’s Twitter account, she implied diplomatically that romantic missives such as “VICTORIA ALL MY TWEETERS ARE RIVETED BY YOUR BOSOMS” had been sent by some third party who had hacked the now-deceased director’s account. This was because they were “so badly spelt as to be incomprehensible”. Yet, remarkably, it turned out it was Winner, and the next day he tweeted: “Victoria Coren is RUDE. I don’t know her, don’t want to know her.” Cue the Twittersphere urging him to calm down, dear.
6. James Martin vs Bradley Wiggins
In 2009, back when the majority of you wouldn’t recognise Wiggins if he came up to you and said, “Hi, I’m Bradley Wiggins,” TV chef and Daily Mail motoring columnist Martin retold how he was driving in his sports car and encountered some cyclists, a “bunch of City-boy ponces in fluorescent Spider-Man outfits”. He proceeded to blast his horn, causing them to fall into a hedge. Wiggins suggested that Martin, “stick to Ready Steady Twat”.
7. Caitlin Moran vs Dan Wootton
In 2011, following the closure of the News of the World, Times columnist Moran and NotW’s erstwhile showbiz editor Wootton locked horns after the former joked that if Hugh Grant didn’t phone to ask to be her friend in ten minutes she’d “get his number off someone at the NotW”. Wootton called her “appalling”, asked why she was still “happy to accept [her] £250k News Int salary” and suggested she should quit. Moran then requested: “Could we hurry this internet spat along and get to the inevitable point where you compare me to Nazi Germany?”
8. Lord Sugar vs Tulisa Contostavlos
Admiral Amstrad famously fell out with his US equivalent Donald Trump on Twitter but his spat with the X Factor host is less celebrated. In 2012, he tweeted that Tulisa “talks nonsense” and questioned her ability to judge a singing contest. Tulisa hit back, saying, “As someone that came from nothing to something maybe u should have a little more respect for people that have done the same.” Sugar’s reply? “Don’t insult me by comparing my humble beginnings with yours.” Ah, the beauty of Twitter – before this, neither of them had ever mentioned they were from humble backgrounds…

How Facebook could get you arrested And possibly partyvibe??
Smart technology and the sort of big data available to social networking sites are helping police target crime before it happens. But is this ethical?
The police have a very bright future ahead of them – and not just because they can now look up potential suspects on Google. As they embrace the latest technologies, their work is bound to become easier and more effective, raising thorny questions about privacy, civil liberties, and due process.

UK : East : Facebook fess up to level of co-operation with feds Although this is from a local news article about Suffolk, they managed to get on the record comment from both Facebook and Twitter spokespersons about their level of co-operation with the British law enforcement authorities.
This is the first time I've seen a statement like this in black and white in mainstream media from the admins of a corporate social network. (of course they all give up info but most of them used to avoid answering questions if asked about it..)
COMPLAINTS to police about alleged crimes linked to Facebook or Twitter soared by more than 600% in the last four years in Suffolk, new figures show.
A Freedom of Information (FOI) request showed a total of 500 alleged incidents involving Facebook (494) or Twitter (six) were reported to police between 2009 and 2012. It climbed from 28 in 2009 to 218 in 2012 – a rise of 679%.
They included allegations of sexual offences, fraud and forgery, and public order and harassment.
A Facebook spokesman said: “Just like mobile phones and TV’s, Facebook is part of our everyday lives.
“Facebook’s Community Standards, supported by reporting tools on almost every page of the site, mean such conduct is swiftly dealt with.
“People on Facebook act as the world’s largest neighbourhood watch and are very active in keeping the site safe.
“When matters of serious criminality are found on Facebook, then we work with law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice.
“It’s worth remembering that this FOI shows when social networking has been mentioned in a report. It is not an indication that in every instance social networks were the cause or carrier of the crime.”
A Twitter spokesman said: “Twitter adheres to the laws of the countries in which it operates. We also have clear rules and terms of service, which outline what behaviour is and isn’t acceptable on the platform.”

Facebook bans Gandhi quote as part of revisionist history purge
(NaturalNews) The reports are absolutely true. Facebook suspended the Natural News account earlier today after we posted an historical quote from Mohandas Gandhi. The quote reads:
“Among the many misdeeds of British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.” - Mohandas Gandhi, an Autobiography, page 446.
This historical quote was apparently too much for Facebook’s censors to bear. They suspended our account and gave us a “final warning” that one more violation of their so-called “community guidelines” would result in our account being permanently deactivated.
They then demanded we send them a color copy of a “government issued identification” in order to reactivate our account. Our account was removed from suspension just minutes before InfoWars posted its article on this Facebook censorship, and the Facebook page is now functioning at:
www.Facebook.com/NaturalNews
This is a separate account from our primary Facebook account, which has nearly 250,000 followers at:
www.Facebook.com/HealthRanger
Logic is an enemy and history is a menace
That Facebook would choose to disable our account after we posted a Gandhi quote is incredibly shocking. The historical rise of oppressed Indian people against tyrannical British rule is apparently no longer allowed to be discussed on Facebook. The very IDEA of a free people overcoming tyrannical government rule now “violates community guidelines.” The removal of this content is akin to online book burning and the destruction of history.

Censorship: Facebook deletes pages of 9/11 activists
By Victoria N. Alexander,digitaljournal.com -
In the past twenty-four hours, Facebook has removed the pages of about fifty political activists. Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth founder, Richard Gage lost his page, as did several other activists.
Several people associated with the alternative news website InfoWars.com have also had their pages removed today. InfoWars reports,
In September 2011, Infowars reporter Darrin McBreen was told by Facebook staff not to voice his political opinion on the social networking website. Responding to comments McBreen had made about off-grid preppers being treated as criminals, the “Facebook Team” wrote, “Be careful making about making (sic) political statements on facebook,” adding, “Facebook is about building relationships not a platform for your political viewpoint. Don’t antagonize your base. Be careful and congnizat (sic) of what you are preaching.”
The Facebook purge includes those who have posted pro-Second Amendment statements and/or made comments about the report made by the Washington Post /CBS News that another gunman had been arrested in the woods near Sandy Hook Elementary after the shooting.
The office of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth reports that Mr. Gage has never made any statements about gun ownership on his page. The AE911 office also confirms that a number of 9/11 activists have been targeted by Facebook. Read more: Censorship: Facebook deletes pages of 9/11 activists (Includes interview)
Facebook Purges Pro-Gun Accounts
Massive act of censorship sees alternative media pages disappeared

Facebook is purging accounts that carry pro-second amendment and pro-liberty information in a censorship purge that has accelerated over the past few hours, with innumerable pages being disappeared merely for posting legitimate political content.
NaturalNews.com’s Mike Adams contacted us to alert us to the fact that “Facebook banned our account for posting this,” with an attached image of a Gandhi quote about how the British disarmed the citizenry during their rule in India.

Facebook shuts down Taliban recruiting account For a few brief weeks, you could see posts from the Pakistani Taliban in your Facebook feed, right next to Post articles and baby photos. But over the weekend, Facebook shut down a recruiting page for the TTP, or Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan — much to nobody’s surprise.
“Plz spread it,” one of the posts reportedly read. “This fb account ma [sic] be deleted.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, the TTP page was recruiting contributors for a new quarterly magazine called Ahyah-e-Khilafat, or Sign of the Caliphate. It had 281 “likes” as of Friday evening and included posts in English — mostly bland, PG-rated job postings for positions like video editor, translator and writer of “jihadi current affairs” and Islamic movements.
In fact, the most intriguing part of the now-defunct page may be the people who “liked” it. Regardless of your motive, identifying yourself as the “friend” of a known terrorist organization takes guts — or fervor, or social media ignorance, or some combination of the three. While there’s been no suggestion that the government tracked this specific page, the FBI has in the past monitored the social network as a part of certain terrorist investigations, in some cases even using it as evidence.
In either case, this goes a long way to explaining why terrorist organizations have mostly stuck to niche Internet outlets to spread their messages. Hamas is the notable exception — that organization’s Twitter account, @alqassambrigade, has nearly 43,000 followers and has stayed up despite arguments that it verbally threatened Israel.

Rep. Ted Poe (R-Tex.) asked the FBI to take that account down, telling The Hill in November that Twitter “arms them with the ability to freely spread their violent propaganda and mobilize in their war on Israel.”
Bet a few people liked it thinking they were funny and now they gonna be investigated LOL

Selfish Soundcloud users It has dawned on me that a hge portion of the soundcloud users that I followed after they followed me or sent me a message asking for me to lend an ear (not the spammy one obviously) Do not spend time listening to other peoples music. Soundloud has always been a 2 way street for me, unless it is a particular artist I want to listen to, in that case I don't expect them to listen to my tracks. I don't understand why they will choose to add me if they don't listen to my tracks?? It seems there has now become a large number of people trying to sell there music on juno or the istore too.I know there is no rules against it but I found SC to be a good tool for lesser known artists to be noticed and shrared. Not for the midicore artists to spam their links on your comment rail/bar thingy. They always say things like "Wow this sounds really good, I would be greatfull if you could take the time to listen to my track at www.somefacelesscunt.com" :sign0073:
As I said I prefer it when it is a mutual exchange of to people listening to each others music and giving feedback. No tDJ Trancey McWorship getting his 10,,000th play. These damn jokers. Ok so I'm removing allot of people from my soundcloud. If I make a mistake, please let me know ASAP cos I don't wanna miss out on anything. Not that I have a huge number of followers on here anyway. Hopefully I will have a nice samll list of people that I know are gonna be interested in what I have to offer and vice versa.
Right who's this Totem biotech fella, and daftfader, they are gonna be the first to go.:laugh_at:
Ok rant done
