British Labour Councillor’s pro-UVF website Labour activists, Irish people and just plain decent members of the public are up in arms in greater Manchester over a Labour Councillor’s pro-UVF website.
John Taylor of Tameside Council has praised a UVF {ulster voulnteer force} mob who carried out vigilante action on the Shankhill against an alleged thief. Not only that but he has decorated his site with Red Hand emblems in response to protests!
like wtf why do folk who represent the government back murdering terrorists and gets away with it
Happy First Birthday, Google Bomb Fix! Happy First Birthday, Google Bomb Fix!
Short by sweet -- one year ago today, a momentous event that must be recalled. Google bombing was defused. George W. Bush was no longer a miserable failure and other mass link bombing attempts stopped working. For the most part, the Google bombing fix that Google put into place seems to have continued working. For those who don't recall the story, the links below provide background:
* Google Kills Bush's Miserable Failure Search & Other Google Bombs
* George W. Bush: A Failure Once Again, According To Google
* Google Declares Stephen Colbert As Greatest Living American
* Google Says Stephen Colbert Is No Longer The Greatest Living American
* Man Arrested for Google Bombing Polish President Into Top Spot For "Kutas" (Penis)
How about an update? Bush still doesn't rank tops for miserable failure at Google, but he does well elsewhere:
* Ask: Bush ranks number 1 for miserable failure
* Microsoft: Bush ranks number 3 for miserable failure
* Yahoo: Bush ranks number 1 for miserable failure
Keep in mind, Bush will have an end to his mockery when he leaves office, and his successor will inherit the link bomb. Why? As my article explains, the White House tried to combat the bomb by killing off Bush's standalone biography page and redirected requests for it to the general page for US presidents (not surprisingly, they never responded to several requests I made for comment on the changes). Long after Bush leaves office, future US presidents will rank tops for miserable failure because of this, unless they give some serious thought to how redirections are currently handled.

I just received this email this morning Letter from one "Angry Woman"
I don't know who wrote it but they should have signed it. Some powerful words. This woman should run for president.
Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady.
"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?
Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?
Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?
And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?..Well, I don't. I don't care at all.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia .
I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.
I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.
I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.
When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care !!
If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!
If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem" -- Ronald Reagan
I have another quote that I would like to add AND......I hope you forward all this.
"If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under." Also by.. Ronald Reagan
One last thought for the day:
In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said: "A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in.. And how many want out."
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON,AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM. AMEN!

Wooo… 24Mb internet! After 6 months of intermittent intenet access I'm about to have some bad ass 24mb unlimited broadband.
Alll for me......(mwahahahaha)
Sorry I've been without my usual internetting abilities for far too long. I've gota terrabyte of extra space to fill with crap as well so I'm well prepared.
Work Monitoring Internet Use My work have decided to clamp down on Internet use during work hours, obviously i got busted.
Got called into the managers office where she had a spread sheet with 2 days in August on it, it listed the times i started my Internet use and when i finished. It also listed the sites i visited. I shit myself when i saw this as i thought it would be horrendous but they only quizzed me on half an hours use.
This fucked me off as i got pulled up on sites that i wouldn't visit, tarrot reading sites, a golf site (I own some clubs but i hardly play and am no that interested in it), loads of hotmail use (dont have a hot mail account) and other random sites. But no facebook, bbc news or partyvibe..... sites i always visit at work. Also the times apparently i was sat at my desk at 7PM when i finish at 5 :you_crazy
This really fucked me off, fair play i do use the internet when i am not supposed to. But where the fuck can they get this evidence from that is obviously not me.....
Sorry i will stop ranting....... ah feel better for that :weee:
Hilarious website! *Link removed* Not suitable for the under 16 viewers of the site. It can be argued that they could see it anywhere on the net, but we'd prefer it wasn't here.12
Warning over ‘broken up’ internet http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6037345.stm
The internet could one day be broken up into separate networks around the world, a leading light in the development of the net has warned.
if this interests you i suggest you go and read the full article
What would you all do if the internet started going tits up? lets say its not a total breakdown (this wouldn't be allowed to persist for long as businesses would go apeshit) but this happened.
various problems due to peering agreements breaking down (these are how ISPs transmit data to one another) - this leads to to an eventual reduction in speed to 128/256k (about the minimum required for conventional businesses to work)
Stuff like torrents/youtube/streaming media starts being restricted and choked not through some overt "conspiracy" or censorship but simple commercial pressures (such as a rise in the cost of bandwidth?).
Sites like PV become just about accessible but slow, maybe your ISP or a big company might have a slightly faster "walled garden" site but what you could say on it or use it for was more closely controlled.
How would you all cope?12
Myspace, Bebo, etc and Google planning to link up
bbc wrote:
Google and MySpace have announced they are collaborating in a deal which could shake up the social networking industry.
MySpace has agreed to join OpenSocial, Google's new platform designed to allow developers to build applications that will work on any website.
MySpace joins other sites including Bebo, LinkedIn and Orkut in signing up to OpenSocial.
The participation of MySpace, which is the biggest network with more than 200 million users, will encourage many more developers to get involved.

good or bad?
MY : Malaysia’s communications ministry closes down 11 websites This isn't a large number but shows the government in this country clearly taking action to censor the internet.
The fine is about £7175.
From what I have heard the ministry doesn't just close a site down immediately (unless its something like an overt criminal/terrorist site) but they warn people first and if the moderators don't remove the offending content then action is taken.
The worrying thing is Malaysia may be an authoritarian nation but the standard of living for those who conform isn't bad, and some conservative Western leaders (and even many older British people!) clearly seem to "look up" to the way "things are done" there (a lot of white British expats who are high net worth individuals emigrate to this sort of nation as they feel its "like how the Empire should have been run)

11 sites shut down by MCMC
By ZULKIFLI ABDUL RAHMAN
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 11 websites, including those created by bloggers, have been shut down by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) this year for contravening rules and regulations concerning the publication of information on the Internet.
Energy, Water and Communications Deputy Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said two cases have also been brought to the Attorney-General's Chambers for action.
He added the Government could take action under Section 211 and 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 against owners, operators or writers of websites who misused the Internet to spread slanderous comments, insulting the country's leaders, religious sensitivities and race.
Those who broke the law could be slapped with a RM50,000 fine, one year's jail or both, he said.
Internet Watch Foundation awareness day. I know that this is a crushing topic to read but it applys to everyone who uses the internet.if it helps just one child then its all worth it, we all have to do our bit to end this appauling abuse of children...please read and pass on ..thanks .x
One in 20 Interent users have stumbled across images of child abuse.
About 1.5 million adult Web surfers have been exposed to such photos, which increasingly feature the most severe forms of abuse. And nearly one in three children in sexually abusive images appears to be children under six.
Most of the children are girls, a child abuse charity added.
The figures were revealed as Internet companies - AOL, Tiscali, Yahoo!and MSN - joined forces on monday to mark the first Internet Watch Foundation awareness day.
The organisation, which monitors suspicious images of child abuse, said that while the number of British sites hosting images are now almost zero, it had reported more than 2,000 foreign- based sites to police so far this year.
About 35 per cent of those sites contained severe images of abuse, such as child rape or bestiality.
IWF spokeswoman Sarah Robertson said; 'We can only presume that reflects the demand amongst offenders for purchasing more and more severe content'.
Information on what to do if you come across a suspicious image can be found at www.iwf.org.uk she added.
