Garry Denke and councillors email That nutter Garry seems to include a couple of serving Councillors emails in his signature.
I am not exactly sure what his intentions are, but it would come across to any public sector IT security engineer that they are to either drum up support for a mass email campaign, or deliberately make their email addresses unusable by spam.
Now I find a lot of his stuff amusing and with a undercurrent of truth (he has clearly been to England many times in the 70s, not many yanks understand British humour to that level), but I do get the impression of a rich Yank scientist reliving his youth a bit, who has nothing really to lose from bombarding our nations public service workers with trivial and frivolous requests to their undoubted annoyance.
maybe we should remove those from his post or suggest he does not post them on forums? that sort of thing is viewed as harrasment these days..

Trolls found on bridge 'Bridge Troll' Arrested After Confrontation With Deputy
Bridge Trolls For Thee
BOULDER, Colo. -- A man who acted as a modern-day bridge troll faces charges in Boulder after he and his companion allegedly got into a confrontation with an off-duty sheriff's deputy.
According to a police report obtained by 7NEWS, Robert Hibbs, 19, was arrested Friday in a park near Foothills Highway and Colorado Avenue after demanding money and attacking the deputy. Police said that Hibbs insisted he was a troll and owned the bridge the deputy was trying to cross.
Witnesses told police that Hibbs and Bradley Boville, 19, were demanding $1 from joggers and bikers who attempted to cross the bridge.
The off-duty deputy, who was not identified, told police the confrontation with Hibbs started after the man hit his bike with a broken golf club when he forced his way past without paying. The two became involved in an altercation and Hibbs hit the deputy with a golf club, the police report stated. The deputy said he took the golf club away from Hibbs and struck him in an attempt to defend himself.
Boville, who was with Hibbs, reportedly told police that they had consumed LSD and that Hibbs was having a bad trip.
Police said they confiscated a large marijuana joint rolled in $1 bills at the scene and then searched Boville's apartment and recovered drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Hibbs was arrested for investigation of menacing and possession of a controlled substance, according to police. Boville was arrested for investigation of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Authors @ Google: Noam Chomsky [YT]rnLWSC5p1XE[/YT]
For the past forty years Noam Chomsky's writings on politics and language have established him as a preeminent public intellectual and as one of the most original and wide-ranging political and social critics of our time. Among the seminal figures in linguistic theory over the past century, since the 1960s Chomsky has also secured a place as perhaps the leading dissident voice in the United States.
Noam Chomsky is Institute Professor emeritus of linguistics at MIT and the author of numerous books including Chomsky vs. Foucault: A Debate on Human Nature, On Language, Objectivity and Liberal Scholarship, and Towards a New Cold War (all published by The New Press). He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
This event took place on April 22, 2008 at the Google Cambridge office, as a part of the Authors@Google series.

I think something has gone tits up in the UK routing as loads of places seem to have slow routing or are inaccessible, but the traceroutes are definitely leaving BT's network

Internet users in Britain who illegally download films LONDON (AFP) - Internet users in Britain who illegally download films and music face being banned from going online, according to leaked government proposals published in The Times on Tuesday.
According to the plans, the government "will move to legislate to require internet service providers to take action on illegal file sharing" which record companies and film companies say is costing them billions of dollars (euros) in lost revenue.
The proposals were included in a Green Paper -- the first step to changing a law in Britain -- on the creative industries that is due to be published next week.
The Times said that the plans would involve a "three-strikes" regime -- users would first receive an e-mailed warning if they were suspected of illegally downloading films or music.
They would then receive a suspension from their Internet service upon their second offence, and face a termination of their Internet contract if they were caught on a third occasion.

found this cool website… ...."Meantime, the derelict buildings haven't been completely ignored. Despite palisade fences, angry security guards with ginger hair, and motion-sensing CCTV cameras, the urban explorers seek them out. Using wheeliebins as stepladders, they flit through empty corridors, recording abandoned places using digital cameras, then sharing their finds on the web. They go where conservationists fear to tread, and create a digital archive of departed structures. The urban explorers– or "urbexers"– are hit by diminishing returns because a property boom, like we've experienced over the past few years, causes developers to snap up their haunts, turning them into building sites. Paradoxically, recession is a good thing, and the trough in the economic cycle at the start of the 1990's was an opportunity. Manufacturing plants closed down, and the NHS abandoned its policy of institutional care– so the emptied factories and asylums entered the public realm, freeing to be explored".

Google now indexing our threads within minutes I put up that "cat eats rat" thread only a few hours ago and its already on google :hiding:
I wouldn't have expected such a mundane thread to get picked up that fast or get such a high google rating (hardly as if the natural behaviour of a common animal species is earth-shattering news...
both a good and a bad thing if you ask me.. shows how careful people must be on a public forum.. (or maybe google/youtube cleverly marketing its "own" content?)
