summer of 89 .on tv tonight . summer of 89 on bbc 2 at 9.10 tonight .the second summer of love .about how rave kicked off .not sure if the whole hour is about that subject .also the year that the berlin wall came down .its gonna bring back a whole lot of good memories for those of us who were around at the birth of the acid house .see all those spanked on quality pills .messy messy messy .but pure heaven
UK : ITV media mergers could mean more "anti-rave" coverage dunno how many of you read Media Guardian but there is an article on yet more ITV news mergers and job losses.
Anyway to save money the weekend reports of Anglia, Central and Meridian are to be combined... There is also going to be an ITV Thames Valley (which may as well be a direct feed from TVP CCTV cameras as all ITV news seems to be is crime these days!)
its a coincidence rather than a conspiracy that these are prime rave areas but I reckon this means that if the ITV news crews pick up on a rave in any of these areas it may well be prominent in the local news for even more of the country; whereas before the report would only have TX'd in one region - in a similar was as to how local East Anglian papers repeat the same crime stories and make people actually fearful of more crime than actually happens; this may increase the fear of middle England...
ITV have traditionally been more hostile to rave culture than the BBC, as they have tried to make money from it but failed whilst the BBC have succeeded..
This also gives a bigger platform for nimbys and antis to speak to the media
incidentally there were rumours the Davidstow rave was reported on GMTV (I don't get up that early nor watch TV often these days so can't confirm this!) - for years raves weren't even worthy of national news (IMO a good thing)
Pentagon Releases 9/11 CCTV http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4987716.stm
so the pentagon have released the footage of 'flight 77' impacting the Pentagon on september 11th 2001
many of the theories about the pentagon not being hit by an aeroplane, but by a missile were, in part, backed up by the fact that the film of it happening had been taken away by the feds and kept from public view
i've watched the fuzzy images on the BBC; all I can see is a pointy thing and then a flash
are there any images of an aeroplane available on the 'net?
Norman wisdom films are the best yeah got a box set of 12 films and may i say, i grew up on these flicks and imo, everyone should watch them, for some safe comerdy :)
French film i.d Can anyone enlighten me as to what the name of this film is i wanna see it based on just this stunt alone

Nikon to end film camera production
By Tony Smith
Published Thursday 12th January 2006 14:33 GMT
35mm film has come to the end of the roll, Nikon has said. The camera maker this week revealed it is focusing its efforts solely on digital photography products.
Nikon said its traditional film-based cameras now account for less than five per cent of its UK division's sales. It claimed the shift will also better equip the company to operate in an "increasingly competitive market place".
The company will stop producing film camera bodies, along with interchangeable manual focus lenses, lenses for large format cameras and enlarging lenses, it said. However, it doesn't expect stocks of these products to run down completely until the Summer. It will also continue to offer its F6 flagship pro-oriented film camera and lenses. Sales of the manual FM10 will also continue outside Europe, the company added.
Nikon is clearly looking to the higher end of the market for growth, pointing to rising demand for digital SLR cameras not only driven by users of traditional SLRs going digital, but also other consumers upgrading from compact digital cameras.
That mirrors Olympus' recently announced shift to focus on higher-end digital SLRs as the compact market becomes more competitive not only between camera makers but also with mobile phone vendors who are already driving up the resolution of camera phones. ®
