Just saw the greatest experimental film that Disturbed, shocked & Amazed me .Once!
Enter The Void ..Dir by Gaspar Noe (director of Irreversable).
Watched this at the London Fiolm festival, he was there, gave his intro, nothing about film but on his drug taking, shocked a few punk azz film students etc..but i loved it!!
The Film itself was just extraordinary..
..Once
heres a lil synop of it..
A drug-dealing teen is killed in Japan, after which he reappears as a ghost to watch over his sister.
mini review..
It's trippy, dreamy, and mesmerizing and left me shaking my head in wonder many times. Startling and risky performances punctuate the dazzling visuals. The biggest surprise for me: "Enter the Void" has much more of a narrative than I was expecting. I was prepared for a cinematic acid trip, which I got, but there is an actual storyline which threads through the experimental camera-work and effects which are at the heart of the film. I highly recommend this film.
btw has anyone else read The Tibetan book of the dead?
Favourite Films? Hi folks, I love watching a good film and have quite a few in my collection that cross the border in all genres.
Whats everyones all time favorite film or a film that has truly touched you?
Has anyone seen Requim for a Dream? It's centered on four characters who are all hooked on drugs and shows their descent into utter despair, I never thought a film could fuck with me head but that one did! (Didn't help i was on a pill comedown as well but that film stayed with me for literally months after!!) :you_crazy12…2728
stoner movies ...are all bollocks!! apart from this one film called Smiley Face by Gregg Araki. Some crazy german girl recommended it to me when i was sitting in the Betty Boop coffeeshop last week. When she started banging on about all this 'amazing' films she had seen she mentioned Gregg Araki who is usually a queer cinema director who had directed films like Nowhere, Totally Fucked Up, The Doom Generation and Mysterious Skin. So thought id check it out just for the sake of it, and its actually really funny and quite clever.. Ana Faris plays the main charachter an actually does a good job of portraying a proper stoner.
anyone else seen it? or recommend another decent stoner flick thats ISNT How High or Friday or Blow (even tho id class Blow as a sniff film)123

Has anyone seen this film? called Home, watched it the other day, not sure if its new, but really good. im shit at describing films so ill let wiki do it for me...
The documentary chronicles the present day state of the Earth, its climate and how we as the dominant species have long-term repercussions on its future. A theme expressed throughout the documentary is that of linkage—how all organisms and the Earth are linked in a "delicate but crucial" natural balance with each other, and how no organism can be self-sufficient.

Film Noir ?? Immensely enjoyed recently watching: Powder Blue and The Human Contract.
Now looking to further explore this genre, anyone suggest any other decent film noir flicks ?
The Human Centipede (horror film taking it to another level) I'm pissed I know about this movie this early...now I have to wait hrmph
Yes...I love disgustingly jaw-dropping horrors.
...Internationally respected Siamese twin surgeon Dr. Josef Heiter has a demented vision for mankind’s future existence. He wants to remove human beings’ kneecaps so they have to exist on all fours and then surgically graft them mouth-to-anus to form a centipede chain. When two stranded female Americans arrive at his luxury home-cum-hospital looking for help, his long-gestating plan swiftly moves into chilling action with a shocking force. Kidnapping a third Japanese male tourist he begins the tissue matches, teeth removal and buttock moulding to create his triplet creature.

Recommend me a film please, pretty please! I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment what with recovering from the opiate addiction etc. So, anyway, I need lots of film recommendations! :weee:
I would be mega super grateful for any and all suggestions. I might even be supercallyfrajillistically grateful (as long as you don't suggest Mary Poppins).

Oh and how do you make a thread that addresses each user by their name?:crazy_diz
