Delicious free meal I just had at the Banquet! ~~~ I just got back from eating ham with pineapple on top, dressing with gravy, green beans and coconut cream pie for dessert at the Banquet. The Banquet is rated #1 in the USA for it's quality free meals to the needy and it was a great meal, indeed! Tonight's meal they're also supposed to be giving out free electric blankets and free clothing, but it's a long walk there and back from where I live and you nearly burn more calories walking there and back than you take in by eating there. An electric blanket would be nice, though! I'll just wait and see how I feel later on this afternoon to make up my mind whether or not to go back down there to eat.
Now, I'm chilling out with some great poppy tea and watching "Star Wars" on my VCR. I'll be watching "Blazing Saddles", (a Mel Brooks film), after that. What a hilarious movie this is!!!
I hope you all are having the best time of yawls year today!!! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good high, ....... I mean, night! ~~~~ lol!

After the cobbler came out of the oven all piping hot and just waiting on vanilla ice cream.
Me rolling out the fresh dough then brushing on melted sweet cream butter, sugar and cinnamon then rolling each slice up into rolls.

So, if I don't go and eat that free meal tonight down at the Banquet, I'll at least have great desserts to munch on!!!

Eating Habits: Vegetarians Vegeans & Carnivores? I'm still eating fish and chicken, no red meat though. I was a vegetarian for about 2 years starting when I was 14. I've got back into eating meat but now am weening off again because it just seems like adverse effects of meat (esspecialley red) makes it not really worth it. Even if it's pretty damn tatsey.123
Fontus, a self-filling water bottle I would love one of those <3
https://youtu.be/vV77TLPMJok
we make water out of light and air.
Forget about worrying to find the next gas station or river to fill up your water bottle.
Just enjoy the road and let
your adventures come true.
The Fontus bottles are a water bottle family that are capable of filling themselves up.
they literally never run dry!
These devices were designed to capture the moisture contained in the air, condense it and store it as safe drinking water.
DK/CN : Denmark invaded by North Sea oysters, Chinese offer to eat the lot Apparently there are so many oysters in Skaggerak, Kattegat and similar areas now they are causing an environment hazard; so the Chinese have offered to travel over and eat the ones that Northern Europe cannot devour themselves :D

How do you like your eggs? Not necessarily in the morning
I used to be on a scrambled flex, but now i'm a fan of a fried egg sarnie, great start to the day man.
Not a fan of sunny side up though, its like having snot on top of it, grim.1234
UK : The filthiest takeaways of Britain.. That one was clearly so fucking gross even the pests don't want to eat there :laugh_at:
Rob Llewellyn, the principal environmental health officer at Stockton council, who has worked as an inspector for 23 years, said: “It’s one of those where you walk in and it’s in an exceptionally poor condition. It was filthy and not in good repair.
“From a hygiene perspective, it was among the worst I’ve ever seen.”
He cited multiple offences at the restaurant, including lack of hand-washing facilities, food kept at room temperature and a serious accumulation of dirt, grease and food debris. Most alarming was the cross-contamination caused from filthy cleaning cloths being left on benches where food was prepared and on top of food. Llewellyn said the absence of pests at the restaurant was a miracle given the conditions.

UK : English and Scots blow raspberries at each other & Tesco over fruit flags.. Doesn't surprise me this is happening nowadays though it wasn't that long ago folk would simply have been thankful the weather has been decent enough anywhere in the UK to grow these at all (I'm old enough to remember strawberries and raspberries being a treat in summer as it wasn't that easy to get them out of season from foreign countries; although British scientists have also devised more weather-resistant varieties to extend the season!)

US/EG : Warning, contaminated strawberries linked to Hep A breakout in 6 US states Just had a look on Google and 3 of the states are the main bits of USA where strawberries are normally grown; how on earth does it makes any sense to import them from Egypt? (about 10 000km away and not the most stable country politically at the moment...)

US : Eco-activists develop fish tracking apps Interesting read - didn't realise that mislabelled fish was so common in USA.
Not heard of it happening as much in Northern Europe; but the EU may well be much stricter about this (it was one reason many in UK coastal areas voted for Brexit as there has been 40 years of paranoia that other coastal nations are "stealing the British Fish" - and there is already loads of coastal radar and AIS monitoring by Coastguards due to paranoia about Soviet U-boats. Also Europe-wide consumers seem more prepared to pay for ethically caught and correctly labelled fish; as that can stop the folk who eat them getting ill)

US : Escolar "snake-mackerel" fishhas laxative effect, sends many Americans to the WC TBH when a fish is called "snake-mackerel", JP and IT have banned it for sale as human food, DK and SE have sent warnings to the EU about health risks it doesn't sound like it would be good for you anyway - if you were to consume fish miixed with added oil, candle wax and mazoet/paraffin you would certainly end up feeling rough and want to "skip to the loo" - but its cheap and large like other similar species ; apparently tastes good in small portions and US trading standards seem to be toothless it is widely mislabelled. Thankfully it does not appear to be a common food fish in Europe.
Even folk in the USA say if you must eat it only consume 170g at most....
