IPhone Warning….. Those with a 3G or 3Gs. Do NOT let Itunes download and update Iphone upgrade IOS 4 to your phone.
It will fuck it up and basically ruin your Iphones running and performance speeds.
Apple has once again let a bunch of fucking monkeys design and release another piece of flawed software.
They fucked up Itunes and now are hell-bent on destroying Iphones.
If your Iphone, Ipod, Mac, etc is running fine then do not download any new updates from Apple. It will only fuck your equipment up.
Iphones still rule though. I just wish they weren't let down by incompetent twats who design the updates. :hopeless:12
So, just got a phone call… from the guy im living with saying the guy he used to work with has grassed him up to the cops and we are going to have to move out of the house today because we could expect a knock for but, basically they'll be looking for any tourist as its easy money for them. he's doing a runner to singapore. luckily for me they dont know that im staying here so i dont have to leave indonesia, but maybe for the best so probably going to be heading to vietnam after i finish that vippassana retreat... :crazy_diz12
Iphone. Anyone got one? I bought my brothers old 3G iphone off him and have had it for a couple weeks now.
I must say they are absolutely awesome phones, they've really grown on me now.
Also if anyone who has one wants to know how to make your own ring tones then let me know and i shall tell you.
For those that don't know, If you have a tune on your iphone you can't use it as a ringtone but this feature is normal on most other phones. Bit cheeky really but i have found a way to beat the system and now i have about 30 evil DnB ring tones! raaa
Want a New Phone? Show Me Your Passport… Everyone who buys a mobile telephone will be forced to register their identity on a national database under government plans to extend massively the powers of state surveillance.
Phone buyers would have to present a passport or other official form of identification at the point of purchase. Privacy campaigners fear it marks the latest government move to create a surveillance society.
A compulsory national register for the owners of all 72m mobile phones in Britain would be part of a much bigger database to combat terrorism and crime. Whitehall officials have raised the idea of a register containing the names and addresses of everyone who buys a phone in recent talks with Vodafone and other telephone companies, insiders say.
The move is targeted at monitoring the owners of Britain’s estimated 40m prepaid mobile phones. They can be purchased with cash by customers who do not wish to give their names, addresses or credit card details.

You can’t escape: it’s spy web, plan B Terror police target internet phone calls There’s no hiding place as spy HQ plans to see all The pay-as-you-go phones are popular with criminals and terrorists because their anonymity shields their activities from the authorities. But they are also used by thousands of law-abiding citizens who wish to communicate in private.
The move aims to close a loophole in plans being drawn up by GCHQ, the government’s eavesdropping centre in Cheltenham, to create a huge database to monitor and store the internet browsing habits, e-mail and telephone records of everyone in Britain.
The “Big Brother” database would have limited value to police and MI5 if it did not store details of the ownership of more than half the mobile phones in the country.
Contingency planning for such a move is already thought to be under way at Vodafone, where 72% of its 18.5m UK customers use pay-as-you-go.
The office of Richard Thomas, the information commissioner, said it anticipated that a compulsory mobile phone register would be unveiled as part of a law which ministers would announce next year.
“With regards to the database that would contain details of all mobile users, including pay-as-you-go, we would expect that this information would be included in the database proposed in the draft Communications Data Bill,” a spokeswoman said.
Simon Davies, of Privacy International, said he understood that several mobile phone firms had discussed the proposed database in talks with government officials.
As The Sunday Times revealed earlier this month, GCHQ has already been provided with up to £1 billion to work on the pilot stage of the Big Brother database, which will see thousands of “black boxes” installed on communications lines provided by Vodafone and BT as part of a pilot interception programme.
The proposals have sparked a fierce backlash inside Whitehall. Senior officials in the Home Office have privately warned that the database scheme is impractical, disproportionate and potentially unlawful. The revolt last week forced Jacqui Smith, the home secretary, to delay announcing plans for the database until next year.

Phones for me. does anybody have any advice on what phone to get next? Ive got a N73 and it is a total bag of shit, keeps turning off, freezing etc etc. So totally fed up with nokias. Im looking at the sony ericsson W880i and the K850i, but ones got a ace camera and the others got a slick sony walkman function. I want the best of both worlds. Any ideas?
Building telephone systems for shared houses/small offices. for those of you who live in shared houses and/or run businesses from home this system is worth a try.(I've been evaulating this for use in the office and am amazed at how powerful it is)
all you need is a spare PC (can be 3-4 years old), a working network and switch and analogue adapters for each normal phone line you want to connect
£20 will get you a single line card to connect to your normal phone line (for something like an office you can get 3-4 line cards for £150, also even ISDN or E1 if you use that at work)
£50 will get you a standalone adapter which connects to one phone line and one analogue extension (you plug a normal telephone into this)
£32 will add another two analogue extensions to the system,
you can also buy IP Telephones (from about £40-£loads if you want bling and lots of buttons and colour screens like what yuppies have in corporate offices), these plug into the network switch.
even a basic system in a shared house produces reports for each extension so no more arguing between housemates over phone bills.
Plus you can add as many VOIP trunks as you want, you can get cheap calls to all sorts of places (good if you have a multicultural house and people want to call "home!") and you can even give people their own incoming phone number for their room/office without having to get extra lines from BT or Virgin/NTL..
you do need a bit of tech knowledge and time, and some idea of how telecoms works (as you have to often customise the kit for British tones and protocols) but don't need to be a big-time Linux guru (I am not)
plus if 3 or 4 groups of you have this system you can link all the boxes together and provided your broadband is working you can chat independently of telephone companies or even VOIP providers...
