This shouldn’t be happening in Britain in 2008… This is worse than medieval times or even animal behaviour :hopeless: no male mammal willingly and cold bloodedly kills its own offspring (its obviously counterintuitive to survival)
WTF is going on ? What is worse is that I thought the reports were the same case but there have been two such incidents in our region..
I find it hard to believe this is ignorance as most teens do know where babies come from, youths supposedly have access to a lot of resources, parents/grandparents are way more tolerant these days even if their kids do get pregnant and I am aware of a fair few local youths who have become young parents and yet are doing really well...
What is most worrying is the young age of these people, this sort of thing normally happens with older couples (20s-40s) where the dad just loses it often due to money worries or a relationship breakup..

A TEENAGE couple killed their newborn baby hours after a secret birth, a court was told today.
The pair, who met on the internet, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court today to deny murder.

Vote, but who for? ive never voted in my life because ive never believed in any of the parties 100% and i dont think i should just vote for someone cause they are 'the best of a bad bunch'. Also i think it was in the last election 50% of the population didnt vote (i think) and this sends a strong message to the different parties that they are all doing something wrong IMO.I also think its one big popularity contest, where candidates who lie, cheat and decieve the general public the best get voted in. it just seems a bit wrong
Anyway do you bother voting, and who for?12

Lost tribe discovered deep in Amazon Saw this today in the Daily mail and i think it's quality! researchers found a tribe that have had no contact at all with the world. they even raised their bows at the the giant metal bird (Plane) flying overhead.

footprint How about this for carbon footprint. We supply two customers with a same product. First customer orders much more so gets a better discount. Second customer gets a quote from us for an item = £5.00. Not happy with that, goes to customer one, quote for same product= £4.50. Customer two does not realise that customer one is ordering from us and getting charged £4.50. Now here's the catch-customer one is in reading, customer two in Bury St Edmunds. We are in London, so we have to deliver the item to Reading for customer one, and then he has to get it to Bury for customer two. A round trip of roughly 200 miles, just so customer two can save 25p. The world is fucked.
Another came up today- Customer in Bristol orders an item from us which we buy from a supplier in Bristol. Because the bosses here don't want our customer to know where we get it, the supplier has to get it to us just so we can ship it back out to Bristol. I mean, WTF???
UFO’s (In the sun) Read this today and it made me chuckle! I do believe in UFO's but the way the sun's been going on, you'd think we're about to be invaded! :laugh_at:

Coal Train had it’s contents relocated back to the ground by a group of activists.
n 13th June 2008 protestors halted a coal train carrying fuel for Drax power station in Yorkshire, the single biggest source of CO2 in the UK. Dressed in white overalls and canary outfits, the protestors used safety signals to stop the train on a bridge overlooking the power station, before climbing on board and dumping coal off onto the tracks.
Now, this action is significant for a few reasons. Firstly, it demonstrates that the Climate Camp bunch have got nerve and daring, and that their planning is absolutely meticulous. Secondly, it says very loudly We Are Serious.
Leave it in the ground

UK : East : poor swan / cow / farmer
Quote:
RED-faced bosses at power giant EDF were today facing the fury of a Suffolk farmer after being blamed for the death of a pregnant cow.
Dairy farmer Robin Richards of Rodwell Farm Dairy at Baylham was left fuming after a dairy heifer died licking a live cable which came down in his field.
And the cow wasn't the only creature to fall victim to the cable - it was initially brought down after a swan flew into it. The swan died instantly.
I do feel sorry for the cow (being sparked by 11 000 volts is not a good way to go for any creature!) but its clear from this that EDF's priority was to get the surrounding villages back on (in fact they did a good job here, as where I work was only off for a few minutes)

Corporate Complaints Me and an ex of mine used to complain in letter to the major corporate food, tobacco & service providers. We started with genuine concerns no matter how small & trivial.
They would all more or less write back with feebys, tickets & voutures. We actually stopped having concerns and writing in anyway.
Free beer & food tastes so good and your doing your bit against the corporate's no matter how small.
Whats the chances of anyone on here doing this though?
Mugabes thugs, burn oppositions wife alive. The men who pulled up in three white pickup trucks were looking for Patson Chipiro, head of the Zimbabwean opposition party in Mhondoro district. His wife, Dadirai, told them he was in Harare but would be back later in the day, and the men departed.
An hour later they were back. They grabbed Mrs Chipiro and chopped off one of her hands and both her feet. Then they threw her into her hut, locked the door and threw a petrol bomb through the window.

So fucked up.
Freedom call me a optomist but
my definition of true freedom is:
being able to do what one wants as long as it does not infringe upon another person
libertarian socially, i guess (economically my views are VERY different, as i believe in so many humanitarian and socialist aspects)
but socially i mean
we all complain about laws, and police
but under that definition, i cant honestly say, i'm pretty much free, i can take drugs, smoke, drink, laugh, party
i know theoretically its against the law, i am not supposed to do certain things, but in reality very rarely is it stopped
we aint that bad are we
dont think im gettin apathetic though, i'm very active in stopping powers that would make stopping these things easier!
i dont know what the point of this post is
im very drunk
love y'all

UK : Brits "proud" to be bad at maths?
Auntie wrote:
The British are uniquely happy to admit being bad at maths, says a report. Why is that and how can attitudes change?
I'm not sure about the BBC's sums on £10k extra for a Maths A Level though, I have one and certainly don't earn 10k extra because of it...
that said there is a video of a teacher explaining long division on the following report, I have to confess I had forgotten how to do this, looked at the first frame of the video and tried to work it out but couldn't:cry:. (I may watch the teacher lady later to remind me...)
Have never quite understood calculus either...

UK : East : Mid Essex on power rationing after EDF man killed in substation blast I'm glad I don't work for EDF, this is about the sixth man blown up on the job in two years :you_crazy:hopeless:

PEOPLE living in the area near an electricity sub-station which exploded, killing a man, are being asked to only use essential electricity supplies.

Two young children die from stab wounds Just when you think it can't get any worse it does. Two kids one a five year old, the other four years old die after being stabbed. A third child is in a very serious condition. WTF is going on in this fucking country??????
Now whoever did this heinous crime needs to be hung. The bleeding hearts liberal dickheads will probably let the offenders off because of their human rights:you_crazy, This is absolutely appalling and the punishment for this crime should be death imo.
