Its getting more and more difficult for them to find work because of the massive amount of Eastern European people coming over here...there should be some sort of limits because the Brits are getting understandably annoyed at it...
What those Brit guys should do now, is either find something else to do, or get better/more reliable at their current job, and make themselves employable... Or they could turn the tables, and go to Eastern Europe...
Whingeing and carrying on about people 'taking' their jobs is a waste of time and energy. 'Their' jobs are not going anywhere, and it's only (IMO) through the thinly disguised fascism exhibited by the daily papers (like the Mail etc) that this view even exists....
Fact is - it's a round world, and a much smaller one since the invention of the aeroplane, and it will only get smaller... So we will have more immigrants in years to come, and need to come to terms with this.
We don't believe in a class/caste system in this country - the general belief that your circumstances at birth do not dictate your possible life choices is one even the most rabid of Mail readers will agree with... So how is being born in another country any different to being born upper/lower/whatever class?
If we believe that people are defined by their actions in life, and that being born poor doesn't make you a lesser person than someone born rich, then that should apply to being born in this country or another...
Most immigrants make a good (and in some cases better) contribution in terms of taxes etc to this country than a lot of people who are born and bred here. If they are willing to work harder, be more reliable, and cost less than Brits, then I for one say fair play to them. Trying to stop them doing so because they might take your job strikes me as another version of bringing others down to make oneself feel better - a life skill that should be left in the school playground where it belongs...12…89

Your views on immigration… I'm in favour of reasonably liberal immigration laws, too much foriegn blood in me, to say anything else!
Nice to see that most people try to show a bit of empathy, on this issue. IMHO there are two sorts of legal immigrants, the ones who come because they want to (usually in good order, in terms of jobs, language, finance etc), and those who have little option, for various genuine reasons.
I don't think arriving in a strange country, with a strange language, without resources, and relying on the state for everything, is a barrel of laughs. Anybody who believes that is delusional!
There was a riot at one of the 'detention centres' a while back, sparked when the warders refused to let inmates (people waiting for there case to be decided) watch media coverage of a critical report by government inspectors, on the centre itself.
These people are not criminals, even if their applications are refused, but we treat them with very little respect.12…89

Your views on immigration… What are your views on immigration in the UK? Personally, I think we're far too soft. Most countries have a policy in which you can only immigrate to the country if you have skills that are required (for example, a graduate in a needed subject) or if you can take a job that no other British citizen can do. Not in the UK, in the UK, it's easy to get a work visa. I've seen in fast food places, supermarkets, etc, loads of Asian and African immigrants who barely even speak English. They know just enough to do their job. In most countries, for example, France, Germany and other European nations, the citizens wouldn't and don't stand-for-it. I'm one who doesn't stand-for-it either. Also, about 2 years ago, a lot of the Eastern European states joined the European Union. Every single nation in the European Union, but Britian, put a 5 year period on the free movement around the EU policy, basically meaning that citizens of the newly joined EU states can't work and live in another EU country for 5 years, a sort of "intergration" period.
Not in the UK, in the UK they accepted all the new EU member states straight away. And what do we have? Loads of Polish, Romanian, Estonian, etc, immigrants taking unskilled jobs that British citizens can and WOULD do. And don't give me this bollocks that the British citizens don't want the jobs, because I know plenty who would do them, but can't get them because all the positions are taken by Eastern Europeans.
Our overly liberal immigration policy pisses me off, sometimes I wonder if Tony Blair is being paid by the Russian government to destroy Britian - he certainly seems to be making a good job on it.
I wish we could be more like France and Germany and not have to pussy foot around the immigrations, while they treat us like shit.
But when ever I say all this to BRITISH CITIZENS they insult me and call me racist. It's like they're all for this immigration. I blame it on the BBC's liberal brainwashing.12…89

Crazy nightmare man. When I was a kid I was a huge fan of war of the worlds. I loved the musical that we had on vinyl and we had the 1953 movie of it too. The only problem is it used to give me nightmares Over the last few days I have been listening to the audiobook off the 1898 novel and yesterday I decided to listen to the musical and watch the 1953 movie again for old times sake.
So anyway I was listening to the audiobook in bed last night and I fell asleep in bed with headphones in and I started to have a dream about the fighting machines form the 1953 movie. I was at my secondary school and they were firing there heat ray and chasing me thorughthe school grounds. it was like the fear that I was gonna get killed by the heat ray just as I used to have when I was a child. When I managed to wake up from it I heard the narration from the audio book and it was a fairly calm chaper where the journelist is talking to a man in a boat so it wasn't the book plaing out in my imagination. I had only been asleep 10mins or so so I rewound the book and listened again.
It was only just now that I realised that I used to dream about it all the time. It's crazy man I used to be well scared when I would dream about that. I would keep thinking about it when I would wake up and imagine Martians outside my bedroom window or fighting machines outside in the driveway etc. I lived in ireland at the time in a fairly remote farmhouse, just like in the 1953 film so you can imagine how scarey this would be for a 5 to 8 year old kid. I really can't believe that my mind gave me dream like that afer all these years. I know it's because I have been watching and listening it again but now that i'm an adult I don't get scared of things like aliens and being on my own in the dark so the last thing I expected was to have a nightmare bassed on war of the worlds.
Mental how the mind works.
If you haven't seen the 1953 clasic here's a clip and this will give you an idea of what I was dreaming of, and it was very vivid man. Its a real shame that this movie couldn't afford to have the fighting machines as tripods. I was watching a documentary on it and the expalined that if they spent the mony on the tripods they wouldn't have made it such a good film with the special effects, miniture city of san francisco (that looks fucking great) and the full technicolor cameras which wernt cheap back then.
