MY : Article about Malaysian food
There's one word you'll become familiar with if you spend time in Malaysia: makan. For makan is to eat; and eat (and eat) you will, about seven times a day if you follow local customs.
In 2006 I went with my family to one of those "all you can eat" Chinese restaurants. The managers saw us, noticed we were Asian and then asked "are you from Malaysia?" when we answered "yes" some others in the background they quickly started topping up the serving trays :laugh_at:
(and to be fair the native folk of East Anglia do like food as well, Defra did some surveys a while back about how much people ate around the UK and people in the East do eat much more than Londoners  )

MY : Man picking fruit in jungle trampled by elephants
I didn't think there were any wild elephants left in Malaysia, I thought their habitats had been turned into palm oil forests or yuppie flat areas..
this is what the chaps were trying to get...
Keranji Aka Velvet Tamarind
GUA MUSANG: A man was trampled to death while four others escaped unhurt after a herd of wild elephants attacked them while they were searching for "keranji" wild fruits in Hutan Bring near Pos Pasik here on Monday.
The victim, Muhamad Adnan Iberahim, 26, from Kampung Bertam Lama, Gua Musang was believed to have died of injuries to his head and body after being trampled by the wild animals during the 4.50pm incident.
Gua Musang police chief Supt. Saiful Bahri Abdullah said Tuesday the five men had gone to the forest in a four-wheel drive and walked some distance into the forest when they were suddenly confronted by elephants which started to chase them.
"All ran for their lives. They later realised that Muhamad Adnan was not with them," Saiful told reporters here.
The friends went back to look for Muhamad Adnan and found him lying motionless and took the body back before lodging a police report at the Bertam police station at about 6.30pm.
The body was later sent to the Gua Musang hospital for a post-mortem and was claimed by his family early this morning, for burial at the Kampung Lata Rek Muslim Cemetery in Kuala Krai. - Bernama

Where should i go next?
Right im probably going to be in bali for the next month, maybe two depending on what happens and who i meet, and then maybe to java to see my friends village and go in the jungle and see some nicer parts of bali, was then thinking of going to borneo and maybe jakarta to see what they're like, would love to papua as well, but not sure if its in the right direction as i think i want to head north.
im wanting to find somewhere where i can get a house for a few months, was thinking it was going to bali, but its so touristy and all the clubs are total shit. was thinking of thailand, but heard that thats pretty much the same story (hopefully find some psy there tho! ;)
obviously dont mind the tourist trade as i am one! but just prefer it where it is not soo in your face. anyway if anyone has any ideas of nice places to go and chill for a few months in this general part of the world let me know!!!

Language and British Asians in Scotland
A while back Buzz mentioned being off his head and going into some sort of restaurant, where some Asian chaps were apparently highly amused and remarking on the state of him in their native language.
This has made me think - when the Asians there are speaking to other people in Scotland - do they speak English or Scots, or both?

Bye for now PV Party People…
.... I had a light bulb moment a few months ago.
What with the recession going on and how it's effecting my income I thought to myself, 'If I'm going to be poor for the next year or so, I might as well be poor in another country'
Ergo, I'm leaving for Australia in 10 days or something on a years visa.
Whether I manage to survive the year is another thing but the way I see it either 2 things will happen:
a) stay in Oz for a year and then travel Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam after for 3 months or so....
b) Cannot survive on my income in Oz - so bugger off anyway to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam for 3 months. (thank fuck the place is cheapish eh??)
So, with a few stop overs along the way before I get to Oz I won't be on here much after I leave - but i will return and unlike Jesus I shan't take so long to do it... not that I made many posts on here anyway.
And so finally, if any of you guys happen to head to Melbourne at any time my door (providing I manage to get a room and not have to live out of a Tesco trolley) is open to all you guys, be it a place to crash or become a tour guide for the city

Party Capitals of the World . . .
I am just back from Goa and can I say . . . WHAT A PLACE!
I have been to many of the hotspots (Ibiza, Miami, NYC, Chicago, Full Moon at Phagnan) and in balance I must say for true "party for money" value and a feeling of the party being real Goa takes the crown! I was at a slight advantage being with people who live there and know the places to go now that the government and police have clamped down but still - WOAH!
Im sure a lot of you guys have sampled many of the party places of the world . . . . what are your favourites?!?
