What stops the police from confiscating sound systems after everyone leaves? It just occurred to for some reason I wanted to see how many posts I've made on the site as a whole entity, so all 4 forums in 1. The total came to a number that REALLY shocked me.......16,000!!!! I'm not sure this can be right, but then again I did spend a lot of time on the site group for a period of time in the not to distant past. I've recently been pretty active on here so that my be the reason....

Focus Presents: Desert Hearts Pre-Compression Title sounds a little confusing I know, but I mean which food do like the sound of but not actually like the taste of. Just to clarify I mean which sounds pleasing to the ears (as in how it's said, not the contents) but upsets your mouth/stomach.

This wandering record minstrel has played to incredible crowds all over the globe. Joris Voorn is a record producer and Dj from Rotterdam, Netherlands. Raised in a musical family, music naturally became an intrinsic part of Voorn's life from an early age. Electronic music first caught his attention in the mid-90's, and he started DJ'ing in 1997.
After the success of 'Incident', Voorn released his debut cd album called 'Future History' on the Sino label. Encompassing 3 years of ideas and inspiration, the cd contains 20 diverse tracks, a seamless soundscape that represents his arrival as one of the most relevant techno producers of this time.
More recently, Joris has been focusing on collaborative efforts producing remixes for respected and diverse artists such as Robert Babicz, Nic Fanciulli, Slam, Steve Angello, Sebo K and Jerome Sydenham. The 'Dark Flower Magnolia Mix' for Robert Babicz turned out to be another summer anthem in electronic dance music, and was a favourite of DJ's like Sven Vath, Dubfire, Pete Tong and John Digweed among many others.
Having established himself as a leading producer and DJ, Joris will be embarking on a new project called 'A green night'. Inspired by his surroundings, which is never limited to the dancefloor, Joris and his team will be creating a night in several festivals and clubs, exploring the possibilities of combining music and visual arts. This year the project will be developed, tested and finetuned in selected clubs.
As a DJ and live performer Joris Voorn has joined an elite group of international DJ's whose musical talent has acquired global appeal. He has performed across Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Austsralia, Russia, Brazil, Colombia, Israel, Detroit, Chicago and New York.

Also it appearsthat could join them for National Service rather than go into the military if you didn't want to do stuff related to war (although that did mean 3 years rather than 2).
A kind old "Onkel" who is now retired (along with his friends of similar age) has hoarded all the text books, learning material and info and scanned them to an Internet site. This has been done with full approval of Telekom, BNetzA, Ms Merkel and another formidable older German lady (who has the copyright for half of the DBP archive for some unknown reason)
Be careful (Achtung!) It starts from 1925 so as a few of them contain front covers you may not approve of (for obvious historical reasons). I was surprised those also got on the site as you need authoritsation from BNetzA to put anything from that era on a .de website , in any case they are in the traditional 16th century blackletter font which isn't easy to read (newer stuff is in Helvetica)
It is all in German. But you only need to have a teenagers knowledge of the language or if you know Dutch, it is mutually intelligible to some extent.

the learning materials are here. Unless you for some reason want to not just learn about old telegraphs, valves and do so in German, look at the ones around the 1980s. The technology then is still in use today, albeit often on a single chip ratjer than individual components. There are also German text books if you need to brush up on the language (be aware they changed the spelling yet again in 1996!)

Prolix will be a familiar name to most hardened Drum and Bass heads, with a back catalogue that has seen releases on some of the most prolific and respected labels in the industry such as Playaz Recordings, Metalheadz, Commercial Suicide, Ganja Tek, Project 51, Virus and most recently, RAM Records. His unique style of production has achieved international recognition filling Prolix with the courage he needed to establish his own imprint in 2011, the mighty Trendkill Records.
As his reputation grew at an unprecedented level, Prolix soon found himself collaborating with an array of artists from across the genre such as American super producer Gridlok, Klute and Noisia, as well as remixing the likes of Ed Rush and Optical and Chase and Status. So with a history of stellar collaborations, it comes as no surprise that 2012 saw MC Coppa work with the talented producer on the 'On Like That' EP. Featuring tracks such as 'Feed the Habit' which saw heavy support from Friction on BBC 1XTRA, 'Interlace' and the 110 bpm electro punk 'Shut the Place Down' Prolix continued to show why he is regarded as one of the top producers in drum and bass.
His label Trendkill Records has also gathered a strong following after releases with artists such as Gridlok, DLR, Silent Witness and Klute. This really is one to watch for the future.
Having toured America, Canada, and Australia, Prolix is well known for his high energy, floor-filling DJ sets. As well as doing his own headline shows accross Europe, he has also shared the stage with some of the top names in drum and bass including Sub Focus, Chase and Status, and Spor.
