The Looking Glass
Do you go clubbing on your own? I know there's a few people here who do not enjoy the mainstream club scene however I'm fairly new to clubbing and so i still want to explore what fabric, ministry, et al have to offer.
Now, my question is, do you go clubbing alone?
I ask because the majority of my friends are not into drum and bass or house at all and wouldn't be seen dead in a club or at a rave.
Ive come to the conclusion that I'm not going to spend my weekends standing around in some god awful weatherspoons anymore. I want to meet interesting, non superficial people. I want to go to clubs and dance my face off until they close.
I need to meet like minded people to go clubbing with and there's only one way to do that right?12…56

Stephane Queme also known as DJ Falcon, is the man behind hits like SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE and TOGETHER (co-produced with Thomas Bangalter [DAFT PUNK]).
He is part of the âfrench touchâ generation and comes from an artistic family. With a cousin like Alan Braxe (Stardust, Vulture) and Delphine Queme (Bureau Records) it is only normal that this young photographer put his creativity into music as well.
Falcon has been contributing remixes for many artists such as PHOENIX and CASSIUS (LA MOUCHE) and has since 10 years been touring around the world playing alongside CHEMICAL BROTHERS âSouth American tourâ, DAFT PUNK âAlive Tourâ, and with his friends from ED BANGER and KITSUNĂ. His DJ sets are inspired by a touch of electro, old school, house classics, indie dance and new rave.
Always travelling around the world with a camera, surfboard and record bag there arenât many places Falcon hasnât visited already. Since 2010 Falcon is resident at Social Club in Paris with Alan Braxe for âVulture Music PresentsâŠâ. This year Daft Punk featured him on his their latest album on a track called âContactâ. Weâre super excited to be hosting him as he makes his return to Focus.

As a DJ, Pete has graced the decks of the best clubs and festivals worldwide. As a producer he has assembled the music for movie soundtracks such as The Beach, Human Traffic and 24 Hour Party People and has produced his own material under various guises.
As an innovator, Pete has taken the world of Podcasts by storm and taking the #1 spot in the music podcasts download chart with the 'Tongcast'. Pete has also produced the world's first collection of TV-style music shows, aired weekly direct to mobile phones. And as an icon, Tong was the inspiration behind the film "It's All Gone Pete Tong".
Last year saw Pete get into the studio and finally fulfil his dream of making his own music. He has recent collaborated with Chris Cox, James Talk, Paul Harris & Jay P and has an ambition to produce an artist and compose a film score in the future.
Pete's success as a broadcaster, clubland DJ and music industry tastemaker is his ability to create a balance between credibility and commerciality and it not afraid to drop the hits on the decks. "People forget it's entertainment," Pete explains. "I wouldn't be doing this if I couldn't champion new music, but a mix is the key. And it's supposed to be fun."
The dance market has changed a lot since Pete started, but one thing remains the same, people still want to go out and have a good time. "People love music, make no mistake about that, whether and how they buy it right now is one thing, but people still want to party...it's our job to come up with new parties, new nights, new venues, new themes to keep the scene fresh and exciting." says Tong.
In the meantime, the ever-active Pete still sees his vocation as he did when he started out, playing other people's records to get an audience dancing. "We need to constantly remember why people want to come to clubs - which is simply to have a great time and feel the music." With Tong behind the decks, there's little worry of failure on that score.

Where is all the London PSY?! I feel there has been a big lack of london psy parties as of recent. Yes yes, biosynth did a banger outdoor two weeks ago, and there was a legal one last weekend with SOS afterparty BUT not a patch on the few a week I swear there was a few months ago.
As for this weekend, I know of nothing! (If you know if any my inbox is sitting ready)
Still, universal groovy in a few weeks with big names but still.
I would have thought with AOP changing his name/focus to house/dnb there would be lovers of psy and other genera looking for a party, being snatched up by another crew.
Not really sure where im going with this or who im addressing this too, but before I finish let me add Where is the mutantbass/offmenut wonky stuff in london? it seems they will leave sheffield for bristol, brighton, manchester, but not london. :crazy:

Normally associated with his peers in techno from Detroit, Europe and elsewhere in the US and the world, John Tejada has embraced electronic music as a personal frontier, expanding on his formidable resume as a techno recording artist as producer and remixer, DJ, and label owner. With dozens of singles, remixes, some film and TV work, and contributions to sample CDs to his credit, this recent expansion has born a slew of tracks deeply informed by his uncompromised aesthetic honed over years of diligent production which finds its roots in Detroit techno but references a far broader range of music, both in and outside of electronic music. His musically formative years were steeped in classical music, growing up in family of performing artists -- his mother a soprano singer and his father a conductor -- which then widened to include hip hop, DJing and finally, electronic music.
Known for crafting a brand of subtle, musical techno, his recorded output ranges across tempo and genre lines, from chilled out affairs with spacious arrangements to pulsating, densely layered, deeply energetic tracks that work magnificently in the hands of DJs as well as on the home stereo. Earlier on, his music found release on labels such as A13, Multiplex and Generation R&S. Following on those successes, he established his own imprint, Palette Recordings, in Los Angeles in 1996, and has enjoyed many years of steady growth and recognition. The label has served as an exclusive outlet for his own prodigious output but has recently begun to expand its roster. He has also continued to record for other labels such as Plug Research, Seventh City, Poker Flat, and others, often in collaboration with 15-year long collaborator Arian Leviste. Alongside these numerous singles, he has also produced thirteen albums (including three from his indie band, I'm Not A Gun) and four mixed CDs.

2 Danish girls visiting London We are two Danish girls (21 & 19 years old) that are going to be in London from the 16th to the 23rd of October. We are looking for some cool raves to go to - we love hard techno and bass, but we don't want to go to places like Fabric. Jonny Cruz, a native to Puerto Rico and the love of electronic music. A multi versatile DJ and producer that is constantly exploring and pushing the boundaries of his craft. A man of many aliases with a wide variety of releases in many genres as well. His music career started at 17 years of age when he became involved with the Puerto Rican drum & bass movement in 1997. In 2007 Jonny started the collective Identity which went on to release many tracks on numerous highly acclaimed drum & bass labels, while touring it extensively in Europe and abroad.
In 2010 Jonny made the move to Berlin, a decision that would forever change the course of his career, he linked up with the label Cocoon and released the dancefloor smasher âDawnâs Highwayâ in collaboration with his then studio partners Simon Wish & Lati. The track was on heavy rotation by many heavy players in the techno movement, and allowed Jonny to cement a place in the Germany and European club circuts. That same year Jonny teamed up with producer Emerson Todd and made âThe Kiwi & Coconut Pie EPâ released on Toronto based Canadian label My Favorite Robot.
This then introduced Jonny to Jared Simms, a relationship that would change not only Jonnys approach to his own music but a friendship that would eventually raise Jonny to become one of the labels core artists.
Fast forward to present times, Jonny has released and been featured on some of the best and most influential labels around and hasnât looked back since. He has played at some of the top clubs around the globe and continues to push his sound exploring and incorporating different styles to keep things fresh. He is a forward thinking artist and the future seems to be promising for this rapidly rising DJ & Producer.
