Your Worst Raving Related Injury? The bagleys reminiscence thread reminded me of a mischief I did myself there once.
Dancing away on the blocks in the middle of the main room, happy as a pig in shit. What I didn't realise was the block I was dancing on had come away from the block in front if it, in fact it hadn't occurred to me that it was made up of individual blocks at all. Anyways I fell down the gap between the blocks which wasn't wide enough to fall down properly, just enough for me to catch my shin on the block in front and remove about 3 inches of skin from my shin bone.
I don't think I even registered how bad it was, just got up and carried on dancing until someone pointed at my leg and said 'shit are you ok?' my whole leg was red with blood. I spend half an hour lying outside (in the freezing cold) while helpful ravers poured water on my leg. Eventually some guy ripped the sleeve off his shirt and tied it round my leg and I carried on. Why I thought that was a suitable hygienic solution to the problem I'll never know. :crazy_diz12…56
A Break from Raving So its been my first summer of raveing, had lots of fun, met some new friends (though not very many all things considerd, im far too shy (eg i dont know a single person from a rig and most of the numbers i have got have been from internet decetective work)). Did me the world of good overall as i was in a bad way socially speaking (hardly ever leaveing the house, lost contact with lots of old friends due to one thing and another) and got me out of the house. But now I want to put my efforts into a degree, so im takeing a brake from raveing and partys.
However im still gonna post lots on here because its full of interesting inteligent people *nods*.
Anyone else taking a bit of a brake this winter?
ps its also cost my lots of money i dont have and an overdraft will only go so far! (its the bloody petrol!)12

Raves on camera!! Dont know how true his is! But a freind told me earlier there is going to be a program like cops on camera but all about free parties!!
Dont thoink ive seen any film crews at any partys ive been to but i suppose it could be possible!!!
Any one know or heard anything about this? Could be pretty shit if parents saw me in some of the states i've been in.
Your best clubbing experience… Although my clubbing days were pretty limited and consisted mostly of going to Prism in Oxford in the early 90's, I'd have to say going to see Paul Van Dijk at Home in Sydney was my best clubbing experience. The venue was pretty good and so was the music, but the crowd we're definately well into it and just wouldn't stop dancing ( :bounce_g: ) which's always a bonus. Most amusing though was watching some random dj trying to fend off 4 very cute looking blonde tenny bobbers all trying to shove 'rugs down his troat at the same time as he left the decks...123
People From T.V at Raves Met her before but saw Gemma, From brat camp (1st one i think) in the coven on saturday n she woz looking FINE.
Think she woz on the brat camp review few months back.

Drivers : Are fuel/motoring costs/new laws putting you off raving? I don't drive at the moment but am planning to do so in the next two years; (more for work than leisure TBH, I don't even like cars and car culture all that much any more) [1] and in doing so I've realised how fucking expensive the whole malarkey is.
I reckon most people invest a good few hundred quid just to get their license; then you get your car and insurance, MOT, VED (tax) etc.... several grand spent...
But driving to raves nowadays seems to involve a 100-200 mile round trip as a lot of more local venues have been caned and the cops no longer let events happen; must be quite hard on your car especially driving up tracks etc...
Worse still, new laws seem to mean you could potentially lose your driving license for being involved with illegal raves- not seen a test case yet but the law is there apparently)...
Petrol is far from cheap either, and a lot of ravers don't always seem to be able to find petrol money.
I'm increasingly finding the journeys to raves quite stressful just as a passenger; especially on the way back when everyone is tired/on a comedown etc....
OK I know there are people about who love driving (most of them seem to drive rig vans and have jobs like mechanic, courier etc) - fair play to them but I've also got the impression from posts on messageboards and peoples chat at raves that a lot of the drivers are taken for granted (i.e its difficult to get petrol money) and that some are less inclined to drive to increasingly distant raves and even if they do the "hidden costs" are worrying them (there's a nasty trend of vandalism and theft to cars at raves as well)
So what do the drivers think?
[1] coming from someone who was well on his way to being a full on gary boy had he passed his test at the first attempt.
what hobbies do u lot have other than raving? Just wondering what other interests tickles the fancy of us ravers!
computing? knitting? birdwatching? :scared:
go on admit u have a life outside raves!!!!:lol_fast:123
considerate raving? I have been to a few free parties now, mostly in buildings in fairly urban areas as it's been winter time, but plan to go to some outdoor ones this summer too, i have really enjoyed these, and would like to get more involved.
You often hear about free parties causing problems for locals, like keeping them up all night, or trashing the local area and someones building, or just intimidating local people. Of cuase there is lots of PLUR etc within the party, and this is a great thing, but it just feels like somethimes this does not extend to beyond the party, and i think it should do. I do have this question on my conscience a bit,
'if the free party scene causes such problems, is it really a good thing to involve myself with?'
Or is it just a case of steering clear of the 'bad' ones? Any thoughts?
Is clubbing dying out? There's ton's of stuff in the music press at the moment about club's cutting back on the amount of night's they do or closing altogether, cos of a lack of punters willing to support a club week in week out.
Seems like most folks want a big event rather than what may have become the mundane experience of attending the same club/s.
Does this mean that some of these former clubbers will start coming to free parties?
Part of the reason our crew do free parties is to get away from a certain section of the clubbing population who most of us would rather avoid at the best of times anyway,so the thought of them turning up and ruining decent free party goers events is pretty scary! :(12…45
