At the moment the Boom 2004 pre production is running quite swiftly. Many decisions and targets have already been decided. Still the stress abounds.
A huge effort is being made to provide you as soon as possible with as much information as we can gather about what will be the Boom this year.
At present major works are happening on the new design direction of Boom 2004.

You can now buy tickets in all major countries involved with the trance scene and also online. We recommend you to purchase your tickets early and get the best pre-sale prices. Check Boom Festival official site for your nearest Boom Ambassador.
Boom Location:
The location of the Boom will be the shores of the lake of Idanha. Near the village of Idanha-a-Nova. The same paradisiacal location as used for Boom 2002.
WARNING! - Gates will open on the 25th August so that you can set up your camp /ecosystem. Entry into the Boom will not be allowed before!

This was a party organized by four portuguese psytrance dudes, who thought that, if no one was bringing down to play BOTFB and Matt Boom and David from the BOTFB here in Portugal we would, so that´s what happened, found a place - a beach bar in Costa da Caparica beach (10 min south of Lisbon) - got some decors from all the portuguese party promoters, contacted the band and dj´s, made some flyers and it´s done!!!
When Matt and the Buddhas saw the place they said:" Man, This is GOA!!!". A beach bar with wooded floor, some coverings, fluo and trippy decors and backdrops, and nice sunny weather even in Winter), what great place for a party.
This was a non profit party, made for friends and by friends, no radio or newspapers advertising, only some flyers, but appeared more or less 600 people to party.
The party started at about midnight with Dj Filip and Dj Pena from Portugal who played till 3.30 am with a building up dat set with great new tracks preparing the scene for David who played a dat set, very well mixed, deep and dark (scandinavian style, with some tracks made by him and friends) finishing with some uplifting tracks...
At 6 am started BOTFB live act who played mostly unreleased tracks, weird, dark, noisy, very psychedelic stuff (and everybody was enjoying and dancing), they´ve finished is set with an amazing uplifting track that tells that they know how to play with everybody´s mind.
At 7 am started Matt Boom , who played only unreleased tracks, and made one of the best mornings that I had ever heard. What a story Matt told us, so beautiful and powerful, so well mixed, everybody was dancing and tripping with the beautiful landscape(desert sunny beach with beautiful waves in front of us) until 11.15 am when Matt finished is set.
This was an unpredictable party that will stay in the minds of all presents for a long time.

BOOM Festival Photos? Hello does anyone out there have Boom! photos... the ones on the website I've already seen. Or does anyone know other websites which have pics? There were shit loads of English people there so I'm hoping there's more success here than on the European websites...
Dutch tackle drug smuggling boom The Dutch Government is bringing in emergency measures to tackle the sharp rise in drug smuggling through Amsterdam's Schiphol airport.
The move follows public outrage after it was revealed that instead of being locked up, some drugs couriers arrested at the airport have been released with a court summons because of a shortage of prison cells.
Prime Minister Wim Kok said that until now it had been too easy for drugs smugglers to get into the planes and that all flights must be so tightly controlled that the drugs couriers won't want to come through Schiphol.
Customs officials estimate that up 25,000 drug couriers passed through Schiphol last year, and only 1,200 were arrested.
But that number was a 60% increase over the year 2000.
Extra staff
Last month, six cocaine smugglers detained at the airport were released in error by overworked officials.
Now the so-called Schiphol team of airport police and customs will get 100 extra men.
The government also wants to build a 350-cell prison at Ossendrecht barracks near the Belgian border.
Justice Minister Benk Korthals has been heavily criticised by MPs for not bringing drastic measures in sooner.
Politicians want a guarantee that no more drugs couriers will walk away after being arrested.
"This is the most difficult problem for me - I hope that we don't send away any prisoners," said Mr Korthals.
"It is not orthodox, but it is a very far going measure I take, everyone can see that we have a very big problem."
Mr Korthals will have some tough questions to answer when parliament debates the issue next week.
Caribbean connection
Soft drugs can be bought legally and used in small quantities in the Netherlands.
But the maximum sentence for importing hard drugs is 12 years imprisonment.
Most smugglers come from the Dutch Antilles, in the Caribbean, and transport drugs by swallowing them in condoms.
The new measures target these couriers in particular and include new scanning equipment at Dutch Caribbean airports, extra prison guards and cells on the islands and even withdrawing the passports of Dutch and Dutch Caribbean nationals who are arrested.
The BBC's Geraldine Coughlan in The Hague says that if Minister Korthals can convince parliament that his new package of measures is enough to tackle Schiphol airport's smuggling problem, he may be able to save his political skin and perhaps turn this crisis to his advantage ahead of general elections in May.
