Glade on the move! Glade Festival set to move site.
After 5 years in the glorious woodland that is the Wasing Estate in Berkshire, the organisers of the Glade festival are currently scouring the country to find a new home for 2009's event and beyond.
Due to restrictions set by Berkshire Council the Glade have chosen to look for a new and equally lovely site which will allow them to crank it up properly as, let's face it, a 3 day celebration of electronic music and culture needs to be loud!
The date for next year's Glade festival is Thursday 16th - Sunday 19th July 2009. So far the organisers have viewed several sites nationwide and are drawing up a short list of suitable locations. Their main objective is to find a space that is as appealing as Wasing Estate, with great transport links, less restrictions on noise, and of course, be able to accommodate those July dates!
"Wasing has been a great home for us for our first five years, but as part of the natural evolution of Glade we have decided to find another beautiful bit of England, in particular somewhere where we can run it later on all nights including Sunday and make some proper noise!" Nick Ladd, Glade Festival
In addition to a new site, the Glade will be introducing some stomping new areas for 2009 which will be revealed at a later date. Line-up confirmations will also be announced early next year. Fear not, as favourites such as Overkill, Origin and the Breaks Tent will continue to remain as part of the Glade... That's all we're saying for now!
Another element of the Glade that will remain the same is the ticket price. In a move to help the recession blues tickets are on sale now for a very reasonable £125 (which is the same as last year). The Glade is also running a Student Initiative for a limited period only where students can buy tickets for a mere £99 from now until 31st January 2009. All tickets are exclusively available from G Tickets: https://www.gtickets.co.uk/. Free on-site camping is included in the price. Camper & caravan tickets cost an additional £45.
The Glade won Best Dance Festival at this year's UK Festival Awards and is a 10,000 capacity event, visited by dance music and free spirited aficionados from around the world. The Glade is known as one of Europe's best underground electronic festivals and will celebrate its 6th birthday in 2009 after starting life as part of Glastonbury festival (of which it is still a part of).

Glade: Good or spoilt? well the glade for me had certainly changed from a laid back hippy fest .. to a money spinning rave up for the youth .. and if it,s on next year cirtainly wont be getting my vote .. seems to me that the organisers are seeing it as a money spinner instead of a the basis of partying ..also with the absence of the old skool travellers it was over run with chavs..!! apart from that it was great.. lol .:you_crazy12…45

Glade Passes Peacefully
More than 15,000 music lovers attended the fourth glade festival at The Wasing Estate in Aldermaston last weekend.
Despite torrential rain and flooding in the local area, which meant some artists had to arrive on stage via tractor, the festival went ahead.
The fun started noon on Friday and the annual event closed at 10pm on Sunday.
Organisers used a new sound system to comply with noise regulations imposed by West Berkshire Council.
A dedicated phone line set up to deal with residents noise concerns only received three calls, all of which were dealt with immediately.
There's no pleasing in some people. You would have thought they might have been too busy bailing their houses out.
Is Glade shutting down? good day everyone, (but a rainy one), right ive heard off ppl that glade is shutting down due to rain, is this true, its typing it down out there!12

Hi there…
As you may or may not know our license had some conditions placed upon it. We've been working with the local council to clarify what these conditions exactly were. We have finally come to an agreement that we’re all happy with…
One of the question marks on this was the issue of capacity. We have now, as a result, got 1500 more tickets to sell!!
We apologise for not being able to let this particular cat out of the bag earlier as we were never sure whether we would be able to sell the number of tickets we had originally planned.
Tickets are exclusively available from 2pm on Friday, 13th July from G Tickets.
To purchase tickets please follow this link: https://www.gtickets.co.uk/glade-festival/
The amount of emails we've been getting asking for more tickets suggests to us that these will sell out very quickly… So good luck!
Thanks and all the best
The Glade
See you all there :)
