WelshTek 2012 Unfortunately it was a bit too far for me to trek, did anyone else make it? Good party? How did the weather hold out? There was a good rig list, I'm looking forward to seeing pics/videos!

Police admit defeat as 4,000 ravers descend on village
06:00am 30th May 2006
Residents vented their fury last night after 4,000 revellers invaded a moorland beauty spot for an illegal three-day rave when police were overwhelmed.
Police were alerted as hordes of travellers arrived in ramshackle converted buses and old ambulances to a disused Second World War airfield.
But the two beat bobbies sent to challenge them fled when they were confronted by the huge number of revellers.
A riot squad was later called, but when they arrived an estimated 4,000 partygoers had barged in, setting up huge marquees, stages, sound systems and perimeter fences to keep out officers.
Unable to gain access to the site, police admitted yesterday that they had been taken off guard and they didn't have the resources to disperse the illegal party at Davidstow Common, near Wadebridge, Cornwall.
Instead, scores of officers were stationed on surrounding roads to deter further travellers from joining in, although many party goers simply abandoned their cars and ran on foot onto the site.
Last night furious residents complained that the police merely stood by whilst the site was occupied on Saturday and large quantities of drugs and alcohol were smuggled in.
Farmers also claimed that the thumping dance music, which could be heard up to 13 miles away, terrified livestock and party goers had seriously damaged moorland, leaving trails of rubbish in their wake.
Julie Dowton from the David Stowe Commoners Association, said: "This is a nightmare. Nobody in the area has been able to sleep since it started.
"The noise and music was so loud it could be heard from miles away, and everyone is worried for the safety of their homes and livestock.
"There are young lambs and pregnant horses grazing out there and these people have let their dogs run free to chase and worry them. It is a nightmare for everybody concerned."
Mobilised by notices posted on websites and text messages sent by the organisers, revellers descended onto the designated area of outstanding natural beauty, from all over Britain and Europe on Saturday.
With no running water or toilet facilities on the 3,000 acre site which is home to around 9,500 sheep, villagers fear it will be left in a disgusting state when partygoers finally leave today (tues).
One resident, Dan Smith said: "There are cans littered everywhere and people were just laying about drinking spirits straight from the bottle.
"When they finally all go there is going to be one hell of a mess to clear up. It is disgusting, they have let their dogs foul everywhere.
"The people there just care about having fun, they don't seem at all bothered that they are wrecking a very beautiful piece of countryside."
Under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003, police have the power to disperse illegal gatherings and uniformed officers can turn back those believed to be on their way to a rave within a five-mile radius of the site.
But spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police, PC Terry Hodgson said that they were overwhelmed by the numbers.
Yesterday no arrests had been made, although officers had seized some sound equipment.
He said: "To be blunt, we have been caught out by this. Questions are being asked about how thousands of people managed to get to that site unnoticed.
"There was a festival nearby in Newquay and the traffic was thought to be going there.
"It takes a huge amount of officers to disperse a crowd like that and that's why we decided on a containment policy rather than a dispersal policy."
Some of the reader comments are good though and I'm suprised they come from Mail readers. Paticulalrly this one from Robert Price:

I believe that this attempt at positive self expression on the part of England's young people demonstrates the frightening levels of boredom that they experience in their day to day life due to the prejudice that a gleefully uncomprehending society-at-large projects upon them.
REVIEW: SCUMTEK SCUMMER SLAM Review of 'Scum Tek Scummer Slam' 2nd of july 2011.
Well what can be said about this night, good ? bad ? I think the correct term would be 'messy', got to London around half nine and stayed in a pub in euston station for around two hours of frantic texting, ringing party lines and checking social network sites for updates finally around 11 o'clock we got through on one of the lines and the location was 'Ripple Road, Barking', so we got on the next tube to barking station which is a unpleasant experience to say the least after six hours of heavy drinking and getting well and truly on it.
We arrived at barking tube station around half eleven but there was no scum atmosphere in the air even though you hadn't heard anything you could tell it was a no go, finally twenty minutes later we arrived at the location and the first thing we seen were hundreds of flashing lights and fluorescent jackets everywhere, there where more police than ravers ! By then we thought right we'll give it an hour get a crowd together and see if we can have a go, needless to say no one was up for it police where everywhere.
So we had missed the last tube where in the middle of barking waiting for the night bus to take us back into London to find a cheap premier inn (when I say cheap I mean London cheap!). We thought well that's it waste off a trip lets just cut our losses and go bed, needless to say we never we stayed up until around half two posting on facebook and squatjuice and partyvibe and ringing any lines we had just to get a hold of a new party and just when we thought that was that scum updated there line with a relocation in hackney !
Once again the hunt was on, the directions where sketchy to say the least we jumped on the night bus into central hackney and managed to get within listening distance of the party, the problem was between us and the party there was about five hundred meters of heavy marsh, but we struggled and waded our was through a warehouse party once again.
Once we where inside there where hundreds of people but sadly no music none of the sound systems made it, and unfortunately that's the last we'll hear from scum tek in the UK again as a quote from there face book page reads -
"No more scum in the UK we will be in Europe though, this is our last party in England there is just to much heat on us"
Party rating out of 10 (1 being as dead as the pole emalyn killed 10 being as alive and kicking as tomski

free parties and technivals question.. i don't know if i'm being a twat now posting TOO much but..
a lot of things i've posted some people (Tbh) have come back with negative things.
although i feel im a particularly young version of most of you so i think its safe to say we all act positive smile a lot but really we don't know whether thats a solid feeling and therefore don't think about it or are actually depressed and do spend a lot of time alone..
so quick summary^ lots of comments/replies i've had are (mainly) negative about taking part in these parties and drugs etc and yet anyone says free party friday
WOO YEA you probably all think i wanna go..
So, should i actually try to get into this free party 'whatever you want to call it'?
do you regret it? have you benefitted from it? Have you this that or the other on it, or am i just being a prat asking too many questions either way tell me what you think..
because i won't listen and will persist to try and go to/get involved with these parties even if you do tell me its all bad... because i'm going to go anyway, just to know for myself.. whether i regretted it myself getting involved.
if i've done something wrong again, wrong forum etc tell me
(sorry)
although this post i feel i've typed particularly clearly!1234
