A Tipi Valley Conversion went to the party at tipi valley a few weeks ago and had a wicked time - lots of happy people, relatively few chavs, and a generally good old skool vibe.
took a few friends who underwent something of a conversion...
an american whose closest experience to an outdoor rave was a couple of us dancing around a boombox in the middle of a forest one night - she almost wet herself when she saw all these tipis and heard all that banging music in the wilds of wales! it was quite a revelation and if mike from offas dyke ever reads this (or someone knows him), she's dying to see you again and carry on the conversation!
my sisters boyfriend who is a self-proclaimed guitar head and "hates" dance music was the biggest surpirse of all. i left him at 6am in the big tent, dancing his arse off and loving it. my sister has said that since that night he's only listened to dance music and is reassessing the social scene in bristol!
don't you just love it when that happens?
anyway, it was a great night and if anyone has any pics or stories of the night it'd be great to hear them.....12
North/South Divide-trouble free partying I've always said how supprised I am at the police down south and heres another reason why.....
Our last Dance Til Dawn(Monkey Business) of the year was last saturday.
After my turn on the decks I took a walk up the path away from the party just to check how far the sound was carrying, only to discover a police van parked up and flashing torches about.
Making a hasty retreat to alert everyone, standard good party goer's guide stuff, four officers and a sargent from Strathclydes L division turned up to find out what was going on. of course being police they claimed somebody had complained of the noise but after a little chat with me, a reduction in volume and a look at who was there they arrested a girl.
It turned out she had stole a car and wrote it off just up the road, after radioing in the situation they wished us all the best asked us to clear up after ourselves and left!!!!:weee:
So you understand my suprise when I see video's or hear of the police charging in mob handed down south.

Many of the rigs were seized by TVP, who have held them "pending enquiries".
This matter is now potentially both the subject of a formal complaint by organisers against TVP, and an attempt by TVP and the building owners to launch criminal and civil proceedings.
As it could easily end up in Court, I will make no further commments on the events here so as not to prejudice any legal cases (I was not present anyway - thankfully!) - I would suggest anyone else does the same and if they have any info that may assist the crews it is circulated in person or via private communication methods.
I will however point out that this is the largest and most violent deployment of TVP officers in my local area for any reason (including trouble in the city centres or at football matches) that I am aware of in 20 years of living in this area.
