Yeah you have to kind of communicate your feelings in a clear way (but usually not too direct, though that can work sometimes.) You just have to like…leave hints. Be flirty and stuff. Invite her out to places and make the move. You have to act reasonably quickly because if it becomes a drawn out affair even if she’s interested in you she’ll think you’re not really and then it will be too late, or she will lose interest.
With regards to your trainer, why not, go for it. Remember that unless you’ve cultivated a friendship relationship beforehand, the worst thing she can do is say no.
