Never been to Brighton but heard it’s a lovely place. This is the kind of behavior I’d expect to see in my local news. There’s a few stabbings every week in Preston. All ‘plastic’, as p0ly put it, gangsters though. Just Chavs stabbing each other over *turf or ganging up and stabbing innocents for the sake of a mobile. A couple months ago one lad who didn’t realise the potential dangers of being out alone at 2am was making his way home when ambushed. He was beaten to near death and stabbed (apparently no items were taken off his person) and left for dead in the middle of the road. The very unfortunate individual was then hit by a speeding taxi, the driver hadn’t noticed the lad but stopped and called an ambulance immediately. Last I heard he was in a coma in the critical trauma (probably not the correct name for it) unit at Preston hospital. Doubt if he survived.
* not that any of them have any turf cos they’re not legit gangsters. Essentially just pissed off young dope dealers!
like I said, it was run by a very young crew from what my mate who went said. They have been doing bait parties since summer, like a blaitant party on the riverbank in full view of everyone. Lots of youths fights and trouble. Mass FB invites the lot. I been to some good parties in the old meat market before.
Fuck thats disgusting behaviour, and it gives the whole scene a bad reputation. No doubt if shit like that carries on raves will be clamped down on more than they are.

Well it was just outside moulscoomb which is a pretty ganky ghetto. (where izbeckistan is from) So you can imagine the type of people you get around there.

Jeremy Kyle was born in Reading and worked in insurance as his first job (probably a door to door salesman for the Prudential)…
That said shitty areas need not stay shitty areas and this stuff won’t be tolerated. I know folk who have helped clean up Reading a bit and also stopped it decending into riots/racial violence on several occasions even after the London bombs and the economic depression (a mixture of British Asians and various other ethnic groups). I remember one of the older “uncles” telling me (in a friendly way) when things were getting a bit out of hand with parties, drugs etc that “this cannot go on, the older folk will swallow their pride and work with Thames Valley Police to calm things down” (and even when their ethnic groups/religions traditionally mistrusted the old bill)
Similar stuff happened in my new town after 8 young people got killed in various ways in 2006 all linked to the night time economy / drugs / hedonistic lifestyles and there had been full on riots at outdoor raves (after the feds had given warnings against doing them) everyone else turned to the conventional authorities to clean up the area (not just feds but councils, faith groups, voluntary organisations) and they did just that..
It seems that a lot of people actually come from Reading; if i’m not mistaken Ricky Gervais did aswell.
I agree with you though, communities will only tolerate so much before a ‘clean-up’ occurs, it’s actually happening in the Thames Valley right now with major drug busts etc. going down – i actually saw a ‘connects’ flat get raided the other day – was quite surreal. This is only happening because of the major meph craze though, which actually lead to massive amounts of people trying/ getting addicted to different substances too, and being out at silly hours terrorising the local area.
Glad that a clean up is occuring though..

isnt there a peckham court in reading that is notorious for dealers. Some people told me about it at a party in 2002, and then it was featured on lots of those police reality shows
It is Mandela Court. Half my friends lived on that estate, though the overt dealing was cannabis, hard drugs use/dealing was more discreet.
To be fair the rest of the estate is perfectly safe and so are the people around it. I spent a lot of time in that area (and East Reading as a whole) when I lived in the town.

Thats the one, I know it had a link to only fools and horses somehow
I would just like to say, I am very close to the boy that got stabbed, and He wasn’t just a chav getting involved , his friend had dragged him there saying its a great party … He didn’t do anything to provoke the stabbing at all he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time , and I feel so sorry for him , that he can’t even come out anymore because hes scared of getting stabbed!
I wouldn’t think he was a chav, nor his friend and even if he was no one has the right to stab him (at least he’s alive and recovering which is one good thing).
I live in what was once known (and to some extent still is thought of) as a “chav” area of Ipswich (IP2) and in reality it is relatively safe. its still a uneasy peace probably only enforced by the SNT patrols, and there are still some bits which aren’t as pleasant but its been cleaned up. The far bigger problem is that too many people are far too quick to turn to violence at a so-called “fun” social event. Townie clubs are only safer because big bouncers intimidate people to some extent as well as searches and CCTV, which makes at least some people frightened of being nicked, and to be fair the bulk of people in town are not psychopaths and if reminded of consequences do behave.

Sorry to hear about what happened mate, i’m sure the whole partyvive collective is with me on that one. Most of us here have been heavily involved in the UK free party scene and this has always been one of the worst fears of organising parties. I’m sure know one is calling your friend a chav thug. But the person doing the stabbing is the person we are aiming our hate at.
The problem with parties is the organisers need to be able to take authority and with young people that can be very hard to do. Especially if you are throwing a party in the city centre because you get people passing by and coming in and not your regular crew. Thus why I say it is important to have a heavy presence of organisers who can help put off chavs from coming in/starting any trouble. Normally at the brighton parties I go to there is a mix of travelers, squatters and old skool townies who have respect for the crew and other revelers so chavs normally steer clear of the inner city parties.
Cor listen to me drivel on. Oh and I hope your buddy can pluck up the courage to come out again. When I was 16 I was smashed up in town quite bad and I was scared to go out for a while, but the bad feelings do go away after a while. If not I suggest he see’s a heath professional in the near future.

Me and my friends are the ‘young crew’ you refer to… For what its worth, we have been running successful parties in Brighton for 3 years now. We dont do facebook events and I have no idea what you mean by ‘the riverbank’, never heard anywhere in brighton refered to as that. Fortunately myself and my soundsystem were not in attendance on the night where the poor kid got stabbed. We partied the same location a week before and had a wicked time, no issues with violence or agro. The people squatting the warehouse decided to run another party the following weekend and asked me to provide the soundsystem. I declined as I think it is unfair on nearby residents to party the same location regularly, and anticipated that undesirables would show up putting another party on so soon in such a central location. The squatters decided to press on regardless and ran the party with a small 12v system. It is unfortunate that you harbour such resentment towards me and my crew. I put alot of my time, effort and money into providing safe enjoyable parties for my friends, and I feel it is unfair for you to belittle that because of our age.
