    thats NHS for ya :anal:

Round here the NHS pharmacies and the hospital use exactly the same computer system as many places in the USA; I actually had to purchase a 3 ring hole punch from some random part of America because of this (the previous one was knackered due to being in service for nearly 20 years). It is that old it formats the printed pages by using the original HP Laserjet fonts, which are often way too small to be comfortably read; and the form is complex in itself. I am not surprised there is confusion and errors…

Healthcare in Europe is in reality a mixed public/private funded system; just about everywhere they are very good at looking after babies and very old people and patching up those who injure themselves in accidents, but there can be problems with long term treatment for healthy adults, and a multitude of different computer, telecoms and other signalling systems (nurse calls etc) which can go wrong in various ways (Britain has a habit of neglecting maintenance procedures and testing backup systems).

Where I work we do have a much more modern computer system that also keeps track of the medications administered and dosages and also height/weight of patients that helps reduce these errors. Also any controlled substances prescriptions have to be sent to the pharmacy using an analogue fax machine; and info about new patients also often arrives from the main town hospital by fax.

One reason for this being that line noise and skew could also be used by British Telecom Security and GCHQ to identify that the correct fax machines are being used and not any “man in the middle” attempts to divert substances. Even I can tell if the hospital have sent in a fax as there is a defective bit in the CCD of one machine and a black vertical line down the entire page.

    That is bizarre.

some of the requests I get have made me wonder if emigrating to elsewhere to become a snakecharmer and witchdoctor could be way less stress, [you seem to only need a turban, a moustache, a snake and basket and good store of benzos and opiates (snakecharmers have tradiionally been classed as medical staff) but its wholly illegal in todays India, discouraged in Malaya and so I’d have to clear Pakistan immgration – even then there are not enough snakes to go round due to environment damage.

And if I did try that 2-C stuff I’d probably do something daft like try and send myself by parcel post to Norway with a live animals sticker on the crate, only to end up being banished with a redirection sticker marked NL-3525 UTRECHT NEDERLAND and although when this is opened I would be let free I might only wander the streets singing to teenage girls / young women (to the tune of Garry Puckett and the Union gap)

    Als ik blijf met je
    Te jong een meisje!

[1] NL -an older man who grooms younger girls for immoral purposes

so the politie would be called on 112, they would press the oranje toets (emergency call button) on their portofoons and Nuns would turn up. As I still have a clear safeguarding record they’d sey “well son, as you know some of the language we will forgive you; but first you must learn the rest and the prayers and all the hard maths you shoudl have learnt’; then in two years time you must teach the new generations….

    :lol_big:

CANCELLED thanks to the fucking moronic hint of a ban. The other newb trtyptamine is still onit’s way though.

The first lot of 2-C* substances were made class A as early as 2004/05 but there wss still loads of them around until 2010. they weren’t bought on the darknet either as it hadn’t been invented then!

Most of the time they were available alongside ketamine and MDMA from the same middle class London student networks who have always historically got away with a small amount of dealing to fund their courses (usually liberal arts students; science and engineering students who hoard chemicals or even carry out certain hobby electronics projects are watched more closely as there are more of “foreigners who could make bombs/CBRN weapons”).

I think its safe to say this now as its been going on for decades (since I was in uni) so its hardly telling the NCA anything they don’t already know and every so often they do catch one or two students who have got greedy (especially those who drop out of their courses and start with other crimes such as fraud).

I got sent an email in 1992 about 2-CB, with a warning not to take too much of it at once or you will get a nasty scare. It was over 10 years before I saw or sampled the stuff for real anyway. Although I these substances interesting the first few times more recent raves had too sketchy an atmosphere for me to feel comfortable with being on these stronger substances. Worse still; some rumour went around that I was actually medically trained (rather than an IT/electronics engineer who works in healthcare) and I ended up having to give treatment advice to more than one young person who had overdone it. (I can understand why;’ its a bit of a racial stereotype but not a particularly negative one, and there are plenty of British Asian folk who are medically trained).

At least they survived; TBF I don’t think these substances are highly toxic or present the risk of irreversible damage provided they aren’t taken as gross overdoses, but I was glad I was well into my late 20/early 30s before encountering them.

Many of the psychedelics can get pretty crazy at not much higher than a normal dose a reasonable person kght take until you’ve got some experience behind you.

Bromodragonfly is some dirty ass shit man.

funny how that stereotype works out, its funny if you look at what drugs are most popular by major and the dealing networks that evolve around that and greek life ect
