If you want a top thread all you gotta do is make a thread called ‘help me make this the top thread’.. if no one helps. just write 70 replies to yourself and you’re top.

Undeserving of top thread? I wouldn’t say that mate, yours is a damn good thread and by its nature, contains a little bit of everything and has the potential to run and run like p0ly’s police one. Nice work bud. As for the jealousy bit – yes, I cannot deny that I have top thread envy, lol!

Just seen this mate it made me smile, indeed it does make sense to legalise it!
Thanks mate, glad you like it man. Would definitely be great if it was legalised, but sadly can’t see it happening any time soon.

Yeah man it would be, but i can’t see it happening in my life time and its a shame. When will they learn education and decriminalisation are way more effective then prohibition.

If we moved more towards the NL attitudes that would be a start but its still not a free for all.
There was a thread on partyflock from 2004 complaining about increasing controls (searches) at dance events back then – since the mid 2000s a lot of more older women security were deployed (firm “no nonsense” european women like the sort what run animal shelters across BE, NL and DE), and they searched the younger girls (who were bringing in most of the drugs) a lot more closely than men can get away with (as they have the same or stronger human rights laws as in UK).
if you are caught the penalties are similar except the caution is replaced by a fine proportionate to number / amount of drugs kept but it is not a permanent criminal record (like a caution in UK) and can never be reported in the paper (although reporting a caution in UK is rare unless the offender is a high profile celeb or rôle model)
One girl went to ASOT and apparently got €500 fine for just two pills kept in her bra. TBH I find that a bit hard to believe, more likely that she had been in the habit of brining them in before and not expecting the female security, and the bra contained more xtc-pillen and less meisje..

Indeeed but any step forward in the right direction is better than none – Cleggy and his band of liberals wanted a commision to be called on the way we see drugs etc. not to long ago, although i question his word after what he said on tuition fees (Promised not to raise them… raises them.)
That does sound like a sensible way to approach the matter and is certainly less harmful than the system we use in which the penalties for having the drugs are often worse than the drugs themselves. We also have a class system that is definitely not based on how potentially damaging the drugs are – mephedrone and cannabis are in the same class as are heroin and MDMA which is completely disproportionate. It just reiterates my thoughts that the government truly do not care about their citizens as long as they get their big pay cheques at the end of the month (although they are more likely to receive them daily i suppose).
Cleggs auntie is Dutch (he can speak Dutch too, I’ve seen a youtube of him on NOS). Except he doesn’t have the full balance of power and the other thing they have in Holland we don’t is proportional representation and stronger local governments. If you are interested in why that makes a difference, this is worth a separate discussion on the politics forum TBH).
