Shipping something into a country where the Government does not want it to be there is a crime in itself.
in most of the world there is some semblance of a democracy; folk living in each nation have the right to vote for a selection of political groups who ultimately decide what types of imports or immigration is permitted. when other countries try to disrupt that it can lead to a lot of angst at the very least and at worst political destabilisation and war.
Legal highs are a misnomer. It has never been legal to consume potentially harmful chemicals in an unregulated environment as folk can and do get poisoned that way. the current NPS market exploits loopholes in health and safety legislation that has only been reluctantly enforced in the UK because we think the EU puts “too many barriers against business”.
On the subject of barriers, folk don’t build them for fun – bricks aren’t that cheap (laying them isn’t that simple either); and even improvised ones mean hauling heavy stuiff about; they look ugly and block off access for good people too. They get built when there is a perception something being under attack and a consensus that it needs to be defended by restricting access.
People can’t give simple answers – there aren’t any. The laws are still being devised and can change quicker than ever as Governments are starting to realise they need to keep up with “internet time”. There is every chance that stronger legislation in UK will encourage DK, NL, DE and FR to beef up their laws to avoid those nations being swamped with British drug users encouraging crime – which means researching developments in more than one language.
Also the cops across EU can and do read all the open forums to monitor the level of resistance to planned legislation and any attempts to disrupt it. Todays detectives are intelligent and multilingual; often more so than drug users and dealers.
I hope that fewer British people would complain on line that they tried to buy a .22 LR pistol from Germany after ranting on FB about planning to shoot their neighbours dog; and the Germans said “Nein, Danke” to their business; as its obvious you would get into trouble doing that. Drugs may not be that harmful (though feeding them to the dog is equally unwise) but their use is still controversial.
