TBH I don’t think the BNP are the greatest threat, it is whatever right wing political party follows them… already Nick Griffin is apparently climbing down and saying he wants to change the membership rules to allow non-white people to join despite obvious disagreement from the hardliners.

People mistakenly think that an authoritarian/fascist party is automatically racist. This isn’t always the case. Some right wing parties and governments are nationalist, but not overtly racist. you can have “multicultural nationalism” as well two Commonwealth countries (Malaysia and Singapore) have very authoritarian governments (based on the British system). but still have a multicultural society… The Malaysian political party is called “the National Front” and the Singapore Peoples Action Party uses logos and techniques from Oswald moseley’s fascists.

Leaders of both nations have openly said that they do not think total freedom of speech / expression or democracy is a good thing and that strong government is needed to build a strong nation.

Both of these nations are however very economically and politically successful in their region.

I don’t think the initial post was in support of the BNP 😉

The point I was incoherently trying to make, is that the BNP are not a legitimate party. A vote for the BNP is null and void vote. They have been found out…..unless they change, hopefully they will be no more :love:

i agree that this government are failing to meet the needs of their traditional core supporters, but although the BNP recently won a couple of European seats, they actually got less votes in the areas where they won than in previous elections, so people are not voting for them in greater numbers, just less people are voting at all

i don’t know much about them, but presumably if you support freedom of speech you support their right to express their views?

Yeah i support their right to freedom of speech, If only they shared that same view.

Doesn’t mean i gotta agree with em tho, I detest this group. Yeah they can shout as much as they want but it doesn’t detract from the fact that they are absolute hypocrites of the highest degree.

Cos i can’t stand hypocrisy, That’s the main reason. I don’t support the BNP but from what i have heard from folk on the street they are being pushed towards them from groups like the UAF.

I travel all over the country job wise and have spoken to numerous people about this recently and the majority i’ve spoken to are siding with the BNP because of the antics of the UAF.

It ain’t good mate, I don’t want a group like the BNP getting in, specially not with my lifestyle. Ok the likelihood of them actually getting any real power is slim but still it ain’t the one.

Maybe i should calm down on this but i actually care about this country and the direction it heads in ya know. 😉
