The constable has the full power to make an individual decision whether to charge for suspicion of possession class A or suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A.
Small posession of class A (sometimes even cocaine and crack) usually results in a Caution – such as a single pill or one or two acid tabs. it is in fact well known even by cops (they do get better training than years ago) that the quality of pills has dropped and personal users may do up to 5 or more in a night, so cops tend to not be so bothered about these.
One chap I know got done with 5 and walked out of the station with a Caution for posession, though the feds may have got him for a driving offence instead.
However the potency of LSD has stayed about the same in the last 20 years. if you were caught with the remaining 9 tabs, coming back from a rave in one area a particularly clued up cop (and there are cops what used to be ravers themselves) might try to get you done for intent to supply. And the cops are almost certain to book you as well for one or more driving offences and suspicion of DUI.
A good lawyer and no previous of dealing would mean the supply charge would be unlikely to stick, but you’d still be more likely to see the inside of Court than a caution, and would get rebailed to the area where the offence occured until the CPS had done their work (and they work slow). Being on bail (its happened to me twice) is no fun even when the ultimate penalty could be minor as its hanging over your head with no decision made.
You are unlikely to go to jail, but once you are up before the beak, the local Press have the right to put your name and address in the newspapers and this has obvious disadvantages especially if you live with other people. Depending on the standard of your driving you might also get a few points or lose your license.
Anyway I’ve done both (3 months ago, in fact process was there with me) as well as ketamine – and not suffered any ill effects other than having to hide up in a bus (process’s motor) for a few hours, whilst said bus had turned into a London single decker service bus (the sort found on outer suburbs of South London) and was on a trip through the entire universe (despite this bus not moving anywhere outside South Norfolk) :laugh_at: Process also had the sense not to drive that bus until he had recovered, (as he was in a similar or even more fucked state than me) – he was still there when I left and for all I know he probably woke up on Tuesday in a muddy field (actually my mates garden) amongst the debris of the party wondering WTF had happened :laugh_at:
I wouldn’t say it was scary, although it was “interesting” but there were a lot of my local friends around me rather than being in a London warehouse full of strangers.
