    How much were you doing?

Have you ever managed to stop long enough to feel the withdrawals get better?

I heard something that Coke cravings can build stronger over time though.

you just taking coke or crack as well?

If you really want to give it up then you will do it.

    ^this.

Agree with above couple of posts, if you want to, you will. I just said to myself enough is enough. Money wasn’t the issue for me, depression was. Once I had dealt with the real issue that got me in the mess, then I was able to deal with the coke issue next. I took it to escape from a situation, which I did. I also enjoyed it, but it wasn’t the main reason. I didn’t get help, but should of, for both issues. I got some new hobbies, a new girlfriend and kept away from certain people. It wasn’t easy changing nearly everything in my life, but is worth it. It takes time and effort and a lot of strength. There are links as well. I found if I had over 4 or 5 beers I got the craving really bad, so I would only have a couple. You have to suss what triggers your thought process that makes you weak. I am a lot stronger now on lots of counts. Good luck, but don’t expect things to happen over night, be realistic and set goals.

    What are the withdrawalls like???

i didnt think you got physical withdrawals from powder coke. just all mental, being irritable short tempered and stuff, guess you can feel physically drained as well tho…

I only ever touched powder. The withdrawals at first are flu like symptons, aches, pains and sweats. After that is all in the mind. Extreme mood swings, severe cravings for the stuff, interupted sleep patterns & I suffered anger issues, but think that may have been partly down to another issue. No-one knew how bad I had got, although some had noticed that I always seemed to have coke on me. It is only now that I have admitted to only a few people about how bad it was. None of my family even think I have tried it.

My stepdad was an alcoholic but he picked himself up and went to the docs and got referred to a rehab. It got to the point where he was having strokes and a heart attack. But since then, he’s got his son back and a family and he’d probably say getting clean was the best thing he ever did. But peddler is right. Your mum is concerned but from the experience i’ve had, i’d say that the only person who can make you quit is yourself, not anybody else. So I think she should just be supportive and praise the progress you make and be there to remind you what you have to lose but not force you or give you an ultimatum.

my dad only slowed down , stopped smoking when his lungs and liver gave up

you win some you lose some

Hey i had a crack problem for about 3 years and it was terrible. First thing i had to do is surrender to my higher power and then stay away from the people i was accociating my self with.

If you are ready to overcome your addiction to drugs you will likely have to do a great deal of soul searching to help you determine exactly what led to your destructive habits. Recognizing how they started is a great step in overcoming them.

In this types of situation, You win or loss some in your life.
