15 cans of stella?
For me 15 cans of stella can only be achieved with a packet.
Havn’t had a drink in about six years, so it wouldn’t take much.

I’m feeling that!
I went from a chubster who hated running to going down the gym everyday and going running every night.
Then started hammering the beers and put on four stone. Which wasn’t too bad, since I only weighed about eight and half by that point.
But it annihilated the uber pack I’d spent years suffering to get.
Mother… fucker…
I’ll get it back though, soon
Be careful with the twitchy stomaches. My mate had one recently and ended up throwing up and shitting out blood on the floor. It was alcohol that did it to him.
I ruined my liver a bit when I was younger and now one drink gets me drunk in about 3 minutes and then I get the hangover an hour later. It’s pointless. It has to be avery special occasion for me to even bother these days!

you ruined your liver? I thought livers have amazing powers of recovery ( I believe you can remove half and it will grow back) or they stopped working and you died. Is it a disease type thing? assuming you are happy to say.
I only wonder because I had liver failure about 2 years ago and went very yellow and although I am okay now I worry it has done permanent damage.

you can easily find out –
go to your GP and ask for a Gamma gt test
(for men it should be between 11 – 50 i.u./l)
if you are heavily drinking it will be much higher though
the liver can repair itself – complete abstenance is needed if you drink alcohol,
However Sclerosis of the liver, also known as “cirrhosis occurs when scar tissues or regenerative nodules form in the liver and start replacing healthy tissues.
Due to this scar tissue formation, the liver losses its ability to produce proteins that regulate blood clotting, control and fight infections, filter blood by removing bacteria and toxins, digest food, store energy, and produce bile that absorbs fats including cholesterol and fat-soluble vitamins.”
and scar tissue can not repair.
I think the only options then is to stop if you are drinking – and slow the progression of it, get medical treatment i.e- if hep +, and hope there is enough liver left working / transplant / sometimes death
however it isnt only alcohol that causes this = hepatitis, obesity, chemical exposure, inherrant diseases etc
and statistically, I was told by a consultant more non-alcoholics die of liver disease than alcoholics so that blows one myth out the water.

thanks for that information I will have a look see. I did get my liver tested after it happened and I did abstain from drink for 8 months as they said it could cause the liver to fail again kinda thing. My liver damage was from a few hundred paracetamol so I dunno if the sclerosis of the liver is a risk or not. They didn’t mention it, but they didn’t keep me informed at all really. I might go and ask its got me a bit worried now 🙁
EDIT: Just had a look and found this:
When the liver has been damaged during a non fatal paracetamol overdose, it recovers fully within a matter of weeks or months following the overdose. The liver damage is not permanent, and does not accumulate with subsequent overdoses unless they are taken close together, before the liver has had time to recover (4).
4 Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) A Critical Bibliographic Review, Laurie F Prescott; Pub. Taylor & Francis Ltd.; 1996
so hopefully that’s accurate and I will be fine. Damn anxiety and paranoia, can never tell if I should be worried or not!
It is so hard to stop when you’re addicted to alcohol and it has some side effects like being depressed that results into bad things.
it goes down loads if you don’t touch any booze for a good few weeks. I actually like having a mild tolerance as it means I can keep up with my assiciates when i’m out drinking in the local pub etc without becoming the first one who gets shamefully pissed! lol!

how shit is that!
i hate having a chronic tolerance some serious gassy heartburn shit. don’t mind the calories though.
I once had a long session drank 18 bottles and then 4 pints. this was a few years ago now.
now i just dont see the point in drinking, dont get the same buzz. hangovers are the worst, i cant deal with them, although come downs i can handle abit better!
