This is the I player link for the program AFAIK
few drugs i haven’t even heared of………….doesn’t surprise me that alcohol was at number 5.
i thought it was going to be a little more in depth than that but . . .
interesting list tho, hope someone at governmental level listens to it
:laugh_at: loved the soldiers in the woods, an the ‘orange’ girl 😉
glad to see alcohol up there an tobacco, will possibly help the anti ‘drug’ (but do smoke and drink) hypocrite brigade rethink their arguments?
loved the programme’s closing comment from the berkley institute woman
‘ humans have always altered their perceptions with substances so we need to educate rather than forbid’
decent
innit. two different drugs in my book
i thought the program was very good, i was suprised.
cant believe cocaine has more users than ecstasy.

loads of people do coke rather than e’s or stopped doing e’s and carried on or moved onto coke – (changed the party scene 4 ever imo)
lack of obvious come down, overdoing it for years on pills but still bein able to take coke, and now bein able to afford it as they grew up an the prices went down, fashion, perception etc etc

yeh well ive learnt that………….MD…………..harsh on the nose, terrible comedown ……………but coke is really smooth and you dont really feel much of a comedown……..but i dont like the shortness of coke, wears off too quick, MD is long lasting
I’m not surprised that more people do coke than MD. Plenty of people I grew up with never smoked weed or anything as youngsters (some of them being pretty anti-drug), but they end up trying/doing coke when they move away (sometimes as their first illicit drug experience) :you_crazy.
I thought the program was pretty good, not too biased towards either side of the argument IMO. But one thing that struck me as weird was the one death a year due to cannabis? how is this possible?
I think some of the methodology was a little flawed though. Like GHB being low on the list, i thought that stuff was really easy to OD on… Seems like the numbers are skewed because only a tiny minority of people do this drug. But other than that, thumbs up for someone finally being logical about drug policy!
i thought it would be a bit more indepth too. I thought that it was a bit shit that they lumped coke and crack together. As crack is definatly more addictive and harmfull. Also it didnt really go into how they came to their results. Surely as cigarrettes kill pretty much 1 out of 2 people that smoke that has to be the most harmfull drug? also i cant get how they got lsd lower in the list than weed?
yeah they didnt seem to take into account very well number of users in relation to damage.
i hope they change the current classification, but i can understand that lowering the class of for example extacy may send out the wrong message. however having pills and mushrooms in the same league as heroin is currently sending out the wrong example. they cant be seen to lower the class of a load of drugs, but howabout a higher A1 catagory or something for the top two?
good show but coulda been more in depth
bear in mind you are all entitled to write to Auntie and make your views known if you think its not indepth enough (but you can also show your support for them making a controversial programme as well)
you (or your family if you still live at home) pay your license fees and are entitled to have your say
all the middle england whingers do anyway (the ones who make producers dumb down their controversial programmes by complaining) so you can also fight back…

they could make more use of class B. barely any common illegal drug is class B, it’s basically just class a and class c.
heroin, meth, crack, coke class a
ketamine, speed, ecstasy, mushrooms class b
cannabis 2cb/i/e class c
just an example obviously debate would need to be made on each individual drug
decent drug debate is somethin politicians seem to be shit scared of.

i think i might do that actually
i recently e-mailed hollyoaks enquiring about their drug message (which, to be honest, is laughable)
Cheers mate
