I can’t remember what book i was reading but this came up in it. Now the book was a work of fiction but i decided to delve deeper and do a little research. Watched a couple of Discovery episodes about this subject and i think it’s quite an exciting prospect, Non polluting energy for all. raaa
These sites will explain it better than i can though, im tired and can’t be arsed to type! :weee:

its definitely a thing we should be looking at, and investing in research on, along with any other options for cleaner energy. Nature is more efficient at harvesting energy from the sun than we currently are.

yeah man, if u can do a 6 mile run u can write us an essay on this shizzle!!
simple explanation… brainy dudes have worked out how to harvest the algae off ponds etc, and from this get plant oils.
These oils are the same as the oil used to cook your chips, and therefore can be made into biofuels such as biodiesel, which can be used in both vehicles and electric generator sets.
at the moment the issue is keeping the yields up and the costs down; also producing algae requires abundant sunlight so some countries can obviously do this better than others.
You can even try the same experiment yourself
