I had a very quick glance at the site but with my very limited Dutch it was hard to tell what were mainstream (i.e like fire and ice/liquid and envy type shitholes) or underground venues.
Maybe the culture there is wholly different and all the clubs are good and everyone friendly – one thing what seems to be the case is they seem to be more accepting and tolerant of dance music culture than in England where it is associated with excessive drug use, hooligan culture and violence.
I’d like to go to NL one day but to be blunt about it as a non-white person am concerned over personal safety issues since recent political events in that nation.
I do find it strange there is no multilingual dance music site for NL and also that not more Dutch people are on here for instance, especially as the euphoric trance popular in NL is just as popular this side of the North Sea! I’m sure there was one but its disappeared. Another casualty of recent events?
I actually work with a lot of Dutch people as a matter of routine but am wholly embarrased to talk to them about the music scene as I think they are a bit pissed off that their country is known mostly only for music, sex and drugs when it is a global leader in some IT and technology fields..
