I’m sorry to hear of the loss of your son and sadly you are not the first grieving relative to post on here, but as you genuinely seem to want to encourage harm reduction, it would help if you are willing to at least divulge the country and region you are in.
This site is read internationally and even though one drug is sold as one name there is no guarantee that all formulations are the same or that a contaminant has not got in (after all legitimate food products are contaminated).
AMT is a drug which has a very small active dose so unfortunately it does not surprise me that OD’s are a risk. However, it can also be unpleasant to the stomach and very long lasting (making it inconvenient for most busy people with other commitments / education / work ) – If your son took any other drugs that should be mentioned, or if he may have taken another drug to try and “come down” from the effects of the AMT, and any medical conditions he may have had, even if they seem unrelated or insignificant.
I appreciate this is sensitive personal info to be divulging at a bad time but it is only by 100% honesty that there is any hope at harm reduction. I can remember in the 90s how a spate of OD’s from MDMA (ecstasy) was only combated by total honesty over discussing the risks and effects.
…
The Erowid site shows reports of fatalities with high doses of this in the USA in 2003 – due to different drugs legislation it may either have been made directly illegal or classed as an analogue of something else shortly afterwards and fell out of use in that country. It has only recently turned up in the UK and this may be the first reported fatality, but there are other reports on here warning of “near misses” on high doses and that it made as many people feel ill as made them high.
TBH in spite of its “legality” it is not that popular a party drug – unless better and less risky substitutes have become hard to find in the region, or someone has already become bored of those. There is also a similar chemical 5-MEO-AMT which has an even smaller active dose (and thus more risk of overdosing).
Sorry for the loss, If you did have one. Im pretty skeptical tbh.
If he DID die of overdose, it was either a fucking well high overdose (Easy 100mg+) or he mixed it with other drugs. aMT is a wonderful psychedelic substance but because of its strong stimulant properties, it can be dangerous too when mixed with other stimulants. Definatly check out the links GL gave you.
Ive done aMT many times over the last few years and have never had a problem with it. As long as your SENSIBLE and do RESEARCH (Yes that includes simply reading up on the substance on Erowid/Wiki/Drugs Forum etc. and checking trip reports, you should be safe.)
Indeed i’m also very sorry to hear about your loss. I can imagine that this must be an awful time for you and your family. I admire your effort to warn others away from use of this drug to prevent this sort of thing happening to others. At Partyvibe we do try to offer others advice on safe drug use and harm reduction, with research chemicals like AMT unfortunately I don’t really know anything about it as it was never available when I was taking drugs.
When you feel the time is right could you fill us in with a bit more to the story, ie; had you son been drinking or had he been out at a party dancing etc. This sort of information helps us to understand more about what had happened and we may be able to offer people more advice towards AMT. Unfortunately just telling people not to take drugs doesn’t work, if they want to take them they will do it regardless, so we firmly believe that sharing information in a friendly environment can help to save lives more than the old skool “just say no” method.
Again sorry for your loss.

Another risk factor with substances such as this, is that weighing out such small quantities requires the use of sensitive electronic scales.
Whilst these are way less expensive than previously, they are still a fair investment and many young people especially those still live at the family home or even in a shared house where not all sharers are drug users (such as their University accomodation) are wary of having such a device at home – it gets them judged as a heavy user or even a dealer.
Also not everybody knows how to correctly use such a scale, and/or to check its calibration. Ironically many schools seem to have discouraged science education to this level during the early 1990s (just after I left) as they feared they were “teaching kids how to do drugs”. Plus as this substance is cheap and available, there is also less incentive to conserve supplies and that can (and does) lead to an even higher overdose risk.
This is a report on the site of a 44 year old married female, with previous drug experience having a near miss with the substance at a a high dose, and warnings about the other similar chemicals with these dosage levels.

Same goes for that 4HO-MIPT stuff and 2cb, you just take a tiny little line and that is more than enough to keep you going for a few hours.
Oh she has edited her posts. She must have changed her mind about the whole thing

2cb and homipt aint that dangerous even in high doses. i know of a dude who injected 100mg 2ce and tripped for a week. know another 4 dudes who found a wrap at a uk rave and thought it was coke… 250mg up all their noses… well they were fucked for ages and felt bad for like 4 months (some of them)… no death though but people have died off t-7 and 2ci… 2cb is quite soft on the body but fuck knows how they didn’t die on 2ce…
ho-mipt is light on the body too.
so, is this AMT a buzz or psy drug?
I bet them dudes felt well sketchy, 2cb is really strange in high doses, like almost mind breaking.
I’ve had to put you in an ambulance from drugs over dose, please think about what the fuck you are saying as advise before you say it! <3@p0ly 517639 wrote:

QUALITY^ lol!
My tuppence, i tried 2cb for the first time on saturday night and i felt really uncomfortable and edgy. it liquid in a bottle and i’d only had 1 drop.
I was told that it was a drug thats used as an ‘enhancer’ so it was enhancing the bomb of speed i’d had earlier, and although i could feel that it did do that to some extent, it was still different/ uncomfortable, very fidgety edgey and made me refill my bottle of water around 7 or 8 times during the space of 3 hours where we were, on another note i got to see dave the drummer as he came up to play for us =D
Bangin night!
sorry for your loss
its a bit sad the posts hav been removed, would have liked to read them
