Downloaded a couple of files the other day only to look on ma taskbar about an hour later to find my antivirus had turned itself off!

Now everytime I click on certain folders it takes you to this little box

When you click no (or ALT-F4) it takes you to this fake website/my computer thing which can be found ere: http://free-viruscan.com/id/4912933/4/1/

It then asks you if you want to open ie-av.exe (ok then, I’ll just do that:you_crazy)

I’ve ran 2 virus scans but its not turned anythin up (and yeh my virus scan does check system32 and all the other system files)

I’m pretty good with computers but this has me stumped:hopeless:

Anyone had it/knows how I could find where it is on ma pc?

Oh yeh I’ve checked for it with spybot search and destroy as well but it doesnt show anythin. Deleted the files it came in n all but its still ere

(as you can probably see from the screenshots I’m not usin IE like it sez:wink:)

Its a spyware problem…get spybot on the case or try scanning with your antivirus in safe mode.

Uploading me BMPs tells me you AINT good with computers :laugh_at:

But yeah, as Elterado said, Its a spyware problem. I use AVG 8.0. It has anti-spyware Included. Get yourself the full version from a torrent 😉

And erm, stop downloading bad porn!

Im joking about the BMPs, most people cant upload at all 🙂

get rid of spybot search and destroy thats crap i use to use it but it lets all the virus and stuff in the back door.My mate calls it spybot search and decoy coz of that reason either use avg 8.0 which is free from their website or i use avast 4.8 home edition which is free as well and ive had no problems with it.

You do know that spybot is just a tool for removing spyware not an antivirus or anything like that. They have brought out the Spybot SD resident that checks for registry changes that could imply spyware is installed but that isn’t an antivirus either.

AVG and avast are antivirus’ not anto spyware tools (unless as Dom says you get a cracked version of the full programme and if you gona ago down that route NOD32 is the best anti virus.

Haha just realised i gave a crap explaination for getting rid of spybot but it is crap i was using it with a separate antivirus program

i have cracked copy of avast i got of my mate

spy bot search and destroy is good imo … it have fixed my comp big time … i was recomended it by a friend who is a software designer .. she told me to scan with it in safe mode with networking .. then avg in the same mode .. them scan with both in safe mode with out networking .. then to boot up normaly and that should fix almost ever virus

Rete then I’ll scan it all again in safe mode. Sorry bout the BMPs dom but I were knackered and stoned and it were about 3 int mornin:crazy:

I’ll let you know how it goes.

Scanned it all in safe mode with spybot and my antivirus. They both found new stuff and got rid of it but none of it were the annoyin thing coz it still comes up. Cant think of owt else to do

Sorry it took me so long but I’ve been in France. The Malwarebytes program Elretardo told me about worked perfectly. Got rid of the thing and a few other s that the other programs didnt show me.

Get Nod 32, from there site, not a torrent. The demo, which is a full version, last about a month, then you can update the key, when it come up as fake or expired using this site nod32??-??nod32??id?nod32??????nod32??

I also recomend Comodo fire wall. It works really well and is totally free.:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_g::bounce_g::bounce_fl:bounce_fl
