I took skype off most of my devices as its a resource hog for what you get and I keep getting dodgy random peopel try to add me even though I’ve never put my ID on this forum; also because I’m old I get confused whether folk chat also want to use the telephone bit as well or just the text chat like normal IRC or both.
recently started experimenting with Zello which works on a lot of kit; and is encrypted but is more like an old style communications radio than a phone but also has text chat facilities.. (as has FRN which also links to analogue kit but that starts getting fairly complex).
