bare posts been edited with asterix’s instead of swear words
i recognise this site ain’t no SJ but come one, we cant seriously be suggesting no bad language
theres a few
think dr. b edited a lot of em
I’m not aware of large numbers of posts being edited..
TBH the only time this may have happened might be on subject lines – and if Dr B is doing this this might be because our new software uses the subject line of what is indexed to both google and also comes up on peoples workplace filtering – so they could get in trouble using this site at work/college/school or lose access to it altogether if there are swear words in the URLs.
One place I worked at had this odd software what counted how many times someone said “fuck” in a forum thread, and if it was too many times you weren’t allowed to look at the thread!
ah right I see the one you mean, it must only be intended as a subtle warning to Sparkplug he overstepped the mark, as the swearing has been left in many other posts.
I have seen subject lines edited but thats understandable given the way our new software works and the amount of workplace / college censorship/surveillance (even unis are doing it which they never used to do)
I’m concerned about filtering so I’m toning down occasional swearing which I don’t think there’s a place for but isn’t worth the stress of making a fuss about… Titles and sex posts are a particular focus though!
