  • Just done a test online (well, another one) and it seems that is fairly certain I have Aspergers/Austism. For those that are good at reading graphs;

    69420_449560083220_504123220_5167346_7005546_n.jpg

Your Aspie score: 138 of 200
    Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 55 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie [Aspergers]

certainly explains my whole life, depression my arse. Been suspected for a long time but when I do the tests the questions just fit my life perfectly. Need to go get an official diagnosis and stuff I can start sorting my life out yet again. Excuse me why I go and find the end of a bottle or 3.

    ps thanks for the rant.

    dont label yourself mate.

I need a label have spent my whole life not understanding why I am different from 99% of the population. Being given medication to control symptoms of symptoms rather than working on the problem.

Its a good thing in the long run its just hard to except. But it really does explain most of my life.

Diferant is good! Varity is the spice of life!!!

if its a good thing then fair play. why hard to accept tho? its not a bad thing. just means your a bit different to the next person, but we’re all original beings and no two people are alike. world would be a boring place if we we’re all the same.

you ever read a book called the curious incident of the dog in the night time?

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    good book.

    good book.

yeah I have read that book, his inner voice is very simular to mine though he is worse. Good book that.

Its not the same as saying everyone is different. 99% of the population will be neurotpyical. 99% of the population have a brain that functions normally. I do not. Its the physical equivalent of having a leg cut off and getting an extra toe.

And its hard to be happy when it just means that the terror I fear in social sitatuons, the way I hate being touched (even by my gf). The depression, the agoraphobia, the social anxiety, the instant fear of noises. 101 other things, all that is to say. Its no longer a temporary problem caused by depression, its just the way my brain is wired.

dont get me wrong its not the end of the world and its good I understand. But its not okay, its not nothing, its not just your average “were all different” stuff I dont feel. It feels like a really bit scary thing.

    you need a sesh

to realise that we are all actually quite distinctly different and that there is a path for each  and if there isnt, you will make that path…

Brain functioning wise you really arnt that different though that’s the point. 99.5% of the population are neurotypical. My brain works in a different way from 99.5% of people on this planet.

    🙂 most kind though

    (99.5% ish)

but to look on the positive mate your not depressed. if you view it as a negative thing then it will be a negative thing. im not making light of it as its obviously an important thing to you, but now you know you might have aspergers then you can work out ways of working with it. watched this amazing documentary about this guy that had aspergers that managed to learn icelandic in a week! takes people there whole life to do it and still cant get it right. you seen that documentary about the reall rain man as well? so, so intelligent.

I am depressed its just that the depression is a side effect of the autism. But thats very true mate need to use the information to understand myself and work out a way to function more normally so I can get on in life.

its deffinatly not the end of the world mate. i didnt mean to say its nothing. but dont build it up and create a massive issue out of it in your head. yes you might have aspergers, but dont dwell on it and stress as this wont help.

I could easily have been diagnosed with this. It affects males more and in fact has its advantages (albeit more so when there were stronger defined gender rôles and men had to either hunt for food or spend days in solitary occupations making stuff. The second lasted well into the 21st century as a lot of engineers and techies had to do this.

Unless I am out of my box on drugs or its a defined and controlled atmosphere like work I do find social situations fucking frightening TBH. I look back on the last 10 years and wonder “how the fuck did you become a party organiser?” but a lot of that was drugs so I had to move away from it as it could become self-destructive.

I am lucky as I managed to get a job which makes use of my skills but there are no easy ways out. You have to control such things as impulsive behaviour or wanting to break social boundaries (in some ways I’m lucky that my late father was quite strict (though I suspect he also had this syndrome) and force yourself to socialise with wider groups of people…

the depression may not be a side effect of the autism (it may im not an expert) but may not and could just be as result of you feeling confused that you see the world in a certain why and why cant you see it the same way as every one else? which could make you frustrated and depressed. but now you may know why you think different to everyone else hopefully you should be able to overcome the depression a bit easier.

take it easy mate, im off to get some munch!
