exactly the same thing (other than metpol managed to contain everything without any major harm to anyone) happened in SE London a year ago just down the road from where I used to live in the early 90s.. I don’t think it was even possible to fit that amount of people into a house that size…
also in Haren (a large town in Groningen, Netherlands) this happened after a 16 year old girl put her birthday party on facebook; the youths were pelting the mobiele eenheid (public order unit/riot squad) with pot plants and bicycles (in this unit the officers are all about 2m tall, they have guns and the female officers are scarier than the blokes) ; although the day after what appeared to be the same youths and the adults were helping the cops clear up everything!
