which is in german… my german isn’t that well but from what i understand 12 partymembers were arrested and were in posession of 44.000 euro worth of drugs..
i think that it also states that over the passed 4 years they earned over 500.000 euro and that they are problably going down on tax avoidence(?)
I’ve been to some pretty damn cool party’s by the IFP crew and I feel really sorry for them.
I hope austria won’t be an example to other countries this way.
The media and government are also looking into the underground (illegal) party scene in Holland (where i live). This summer the media in holland reported about foreign soundsystem making 1000’s of euro every weekend giving illegal parties. (of course the story was blown up) but there were some political questions asked about it. (one of the foreign soundsystem that were in holland at the time was ifp, i believe).
Thanks for the report – for those in the UK who may not be used to how numbers are written elsewhere in the EU I’d point out that is €40000 of drugs and €500000 profit(!) respectively rather than €40 and €500 – so this crew could well be in a fair bit of trouble 🙁
It looks like they are being done on dealing and money laundering charges which are way more serious than the “anti-social behaviour” and “no music license” ones they use in Britan 🙁
I don’t how the Austrian CID can say that the party crew made €500000 – here in Britain crews are run on shoestring budget and there are only donations charged at most events’
Here is an English translation which came from a South African news service. It appears to be fairly identical to the German version originally posted (I too have let my German get rusty 🙁 )
The group, known as the Invisible Freak Project, is suspected of having organised dozens of rave parties in Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain in recent years, the police said.
The police said they confiscated drugs with a street value of 44 000 euros ($57 000) from the suspects, who are between 23 and 27-years-old, and were still on the lookout for another eight suspects.
Austrian authorities say some of their parties drew up to 5 000 people and ravers were supplied with drugs by the organisers, who are estimated to have made about €500 000 from the events.
