Social services face inquiry over rapist who fathered nine children with daughters

An investigation has been launched into the failings of police and social services in the case of a father who made his two daughters pregnant 19 times during almost 30 years of rape and physical abuse.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was given 25 life sentences yesterday. He will serve a minimum of 19 years and six months in prison.

So he raped these girls for 30yrs, pleaded guilty to 25rapes, got 25 life sentances, yet he’s only going to serve 19yrs and 6mnths?! doesnt make sense to me. :hopeless: :you_crazy:

    yeah thats fucked up

sentences like that must drive the coppers nuts

i just dont get how you can get 25 life sentances, which i thought was 25yrs(?) then only have to serve 19 and half minimum. fucked up.

yep and thats why so many feds are bitter and cynical and genuinely feel that limiting peoples freedom (particularly the permissive society) is the only way of saving society..

Considering the suffolk killer got a whole life tarriff (and rightly so), why was this not also the case?

    Hang the cunt.

whilst I would agree to an extent, this is exactly what they have done in Malaysia (a country with a identical legal system to ours) for many years since independence.

By the late 1960s and as a direct reprisal against the Western “hippy” culture (as the new leaders believed drugs had been used to dumb down the populace to accept colonial rule) the death penalty was extended to cover first dealers, then recreational users of all drugs, not just smack but cannabis and speed, ketamine etc.

This law remains on the statute books today – recently they hanged a young couple with a new baby for selling a few kilos of ketamine (all requests for clemency were refused). The baby was taken into care and sold to a foster family for cash (this money goes to the cops/government),

Ain’t nothing else to put here other than :you_crazy

That blatantly doesn’t deserve the death penalty but raping your two daughters for almost 30 years does imo. Might be wrong on a moral level but ffs it’s one less weirdo to worry about innit.

true but the problem is once the death penalty is on the books, its very easy for a government (particularly when swayed by a populist conservative religious majority) to vastly widen the scope of what is considered to be a “wierdo”. This is essentially what has happened in Malaysia and several other Commonwealth countries.

China has gone the other way with drugs (at least with users it is as lenient as Europe in some areas!) but the death penalty is still used against political dissidents.

In this country, the whole life prison tariff exists and should have been used. I do think that once someone has been found guilty of such a heinous crime the defence solicitors should not be allowed to try and bargain down the sentence which is what usually happens…

whats the point of saying he’s been given 25 life sentances tho, if he is just going to serve them concurently, meaning he only actualy has to serve 1.

happens with loads of criminal cases, due to technicalities. It should have been a whole life tariff but the legal issue may be because it was multiple rape rather than murder.

The remaining family / relatives should appeal against the sentence being overly lenient.

That said, because of the nature of the case it appears the age and therefore health of the criminal hasn’t been mentioned. If he’s over 60 which TBH would be very possible, it is unlikely he would last a whole 19 years even in somewhere like HMP Norwich with a OAP wing for this purpose.

I still think there should be a campaign for a whole life tariff to act as a deterrent, in the absence of the death penalty in this nation..

Well thats just sickening… 30 years of rape should just = Lock him up and chuck the key. Just inexcusable.

well to be fair there is a full government inquiry, but this (and other high profile abuse cases of recent times) will invariably result in greater scrutiny of all parents and families from the state, more monitoring and less freedom…

It seems that whilst the scum of the earth may not win, they seem to be able to make everyone lose in the end…

Absolutely fucking ridiculous. I’m against the death penalty, but shit like this makes me doubt my views. Agreed about how it can be extended to extremes though.
