  • Hello everyone,

I made a video about a roof party in Singapore @ Swissotel, I hope you will enjoy it :

If you like this there is another one video party on my website :

    See you soon !

interesting, especially as my family are from Malaysia and one of my uncles is a musician who used to perform in Singapore – but in comparison to most parties on this site we’d say this was very commercialised and based around fashion.

But I do of course realise that the kind of rave found in Europe might be difficult to hold in SG with strict laws – and this must still be a relaxation of control compared to how SG used to be..

Do you know much about immigration / travel rules there? I have two cautions (infractions) for drugs possession in the UK – these are a minor penalty but still a criminal record and some countries like USA will not admit me easily because of them. Is SG like that?

“but in comparison to most parties on this site we’d say this was very commercialised and based around fashion. “

You’re so right, it was really too much and not the kind of party I like. I was missing european parties like Berlin’s ones…

Concerning your law cautions, it might be very difficult for you to come in Singapore. This is one of the most strict country in the world on that point (“death for drug traffickers are executed”, it is written on your passport when you enter here, and huge cautions for drugs consumers), so if I were you… I would avoid this country 😉

EXACTLY HOW IT USED TO BE .. worked there for 2 years and did not enjoy the experience.

GL .. if you really ant to visit la la land best say nothin about said caution and stroll in from Malaysia thru Johor Baru as visitor.
Tourist visa gets issued on the spot no probs.
But fuk only knows why you would want to go there. You’ve seen the video .. what more do ya need.

TBH I expect I could even use family connections to clear Malaysia immigration for long term stay or a work permit if I really wanted to – thats even if they cared as much about the drugs cautions (especially as they are more lenient than in recent times) – but in the present climate there are little reasons I’d want to visit or live/work in SE Asia.

Apart from the harsh government, its always blazing hot, electric power and internet quality is flaky, and numerous nuisance animals/creatures/bugs run about everywhere, and they bite.

I can meet plenty of young women from SE Asia at work, about half the nurses are from there :laugh_at: But SE Asian girls are actually very socially conservative and demanding, contrary to stereotypes some folk might have, if they are interested in partying its only for a few years then they want to settle down and have children etc…

    There are always exceptions 😉

that said for obvious reasons the ones I tend to meet have made a major investment and life change in coming down here (they have either graduated in nursing already or are studying), they are often slightly older than you’d expect them to be and this is their chance of a new and better life, plus they often take the weekend shifts and the extras the English girls don’t want to do so I can’t blame them for their attitudes..

    Hey everybody,

I shot a new party, which this time was less “people” and “jet-set”. So this one was really cool and even crazy. It was a Kitsuné party (a parisian brand/label) in Zouk Club with dj sets by Gildas, Punks Jump Up and Moonlight Matters. The music was incredible.

Hope you will enjoy it 😉

there was a lad in Singapore who briefly posted here about the party scene (he left soon afterwards but as internet is not censored but heavily watched I don’t blame him).

the truth is you can get all the ketamine, mephedrone etc you want there, and prices are the same as in Europe! SG was in fact one of the last countries in the World to make mephedrone illegal, months after Europe had done so. Certainly it is dangerous to get caught for trafficking and there is the death penalty, but both Singapore and Malaysia have raised the “personal use” amounts in recent years.

Otherwise they would end up hanging half their middle class kids, which would be stupid especially in Singapore where the birth rate has been declining for some years.

I also have comic book my mum brought back from 2006 and it was making fun about how the kids were all doing pills, and my own cousins said there were loads.

I think though that Singapore (and Malaysian) clubbers/party heads are very careful not to draw attention to themselves – for instance when the club shuts they go back quietly so as not to draw attention to themselves (not like Britsh people where they shot in the street etc), and also they are careful not to miss work or education too often and attract the attention of their parents (which in a Asian family is worse than being busted by the Police or other authorities!)

in fact it seems that you are unlucky enough to get busted for posession as part of the caution/rehab you have to sit in police station with your parents and drugs counsellor (even if you are well over age 18) and apologise to the family for the shame you bring on them!
