PLEASE GIVE ANY AND ALL ADVICE YOU CAN…IF YOU HAPPEN TO VIEW THIS, JUST GIVE SOME KIND OF ADVICE THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE…EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS AND WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED FROM THIS NEWBY/1ST TIME POSTER…Hey everyone, long time reader, first time poster/recent member….I have a question, possibly serious. We’ll see. Anyway, SWIM, recently tried bath salts yesterday, for the 1st time, and as would be expected, was up all night, and is still tweaking, w/e you want to call it but nothing too serious. So the question: SWIM is on MMT, 135 mg to be precise and went and dosed today….which was around 30-45 min ago at this time. Should the individual, or whatever fictional character it is, have anything to be concerned about or be looking out for? at this time, SWIM is reportedly feeling fine…since dosing, the effects of bath salts have worn off somewhat, and feel that this will continue undoubtedly. Should SWIM ride out the rest of the high, consider using the last line or so of bath salts, definitely refrain from anything, even Phenibut for comedown etc…any and all CONSTRUCTIVE comments welcome…thanks for reading and whatever help/insight/advice you could offer.
I would have thought the crash when they both wear off might be harsher than each individually.
Keep an eye on heart rate, breathing. Probably they will sleep through the crash but they are going to need some rest to get over that mix. Not too much stress (increase of blood pressure and heart rate), not too little (heart/lung muscles don’t get stimulated enough and you go into coma/death), and that’s a real pain in the arse if you are nurse maiding an “experimenter”. Very easy to get mad at them and take a hike – keeping your temper and cool is very important.
A good detox is recommended – methadone is a tough habit to break. But that’s for the future, and maybe they’re just not ready to accept life without serious drugs.
They sound like they are in good shape, considering. If they’re young and fairly fit, they might just learn some of their own limitations from the experience.
breathing and heart rate/check. what is the overall/underlying “serious risk” associated with these two combinations, if any, per se? and SWIM has been on Methadone since end of June/beginning of July, according to them. It has done wonders as far as drug craving, etc. plus SWIM gets it for free from a local VA, SWIM is a decorated former Marine, which is a blessing in itself. Thanks for the quick/reply…and so far the only one lol but “A good detox is recommended -” is reffering to Methadone, detox for when SWIM is ready im assuming? overall the experience hasnt been horrible, according to SWIM, just the usual ups and horrible downs associated with uppers…SWIM has never done Meth, not really a fan of uppers actually, but has hard bath salts are similar in effect and withdrawal as well as health complications? i.e. psychosis, insanity, etc.. associated with the aforementioned substance.
OK, well, they are going to have to find some way of “rationalising” their experience on the salts, which can take years.
But, so long as they appreciate what they experienced wasn’t physical reality, then that’s most of the battle won.
Fear is the mindkiller. They’ve gone beyond fear to try something different. Just so long as they don’t turn into an addict who craves that feeling all the time.
It’s been a peak experience for them, and thanks for clearing up the methadone treatment – it’s helping them cope with other come downs. So long as they can regulate it pretty well, quitting should not be too much of a problem when they are ready for it.
My sympathies, and I hope both of you can get over it without too much more drama. Marines… always ready to take on the world. Not so easy to use that attitude when you are a civilian. But I reckon your care is showing them that they do have friends, and a future.
That’s the real key. Nobody gets healed without love. Love isn’t sex, it’s about caring, and making sure they got a path to tread in life. You doing a great job – just try to keep your perspective.
Also, this is a inquiry in addition to my original posting, what are the long term effects, risk or staying up overnight, long periods of time on “bath salts”. or put more simply, what is the longest amount of time that you can stay awake on this or any other type of stimulant w/o risking mental/phsyical halth damage.. ex. 24 hrs, 48hrs?….all replies are GREATLY appreciated. I’m new to this site and would really like some help guidance with this issue SWIM is having…
72 hours without sleep will make you hallucinate. Even without any other drugs. Doesn’t sound like they went there, I don’t recommend it. Older people tend to need less sleep, younger people who are still growing physically need more.
Probably they will have some memories of “key events” – things that were important to them at the time, but they don’t know why.
My personal take on that is that subconciously you try to make sense of those key events – they seem important. Which is why I mentioned that it can take years for “real” answers to pop into being.
Oh yeah – don’t forget to adjust the music! Banging beats will keep them awake, try some lullabies or trance melodies or gentle stuff to get them to nod off.
Just don’t piss them off with something they don’t like (I personally can’t stand Country and Western, for instance).
Thanks for all the great insight, it truly is appreciated friend. and just a quick inquiry to the first few sentences of your recent post, youre speaking about if SWIM is intending to use bath salts again in the future/repeatedly? according to SWIM, who is as he puts it “a seasoned, responsible, recreational substance user” or w/e he/someone would like to call it, basically saying he doesnt screw around with shit, especially like this often or habitually, its not likely he will be using “bath salts” again anytime in the near future or possibly again, for that matter.
Life is for living. More life to you both. I regret, I must leave now. But I am glad if I have helped you or your loved one.
Semper Fi to you both. 🙂
Are you familiar with the dietary supplement, Phenibut? if so, SWIM was wondering if it would be ill-advisable to take any during this period of his body “purging” these impurities from his system. He has been taking it daily for a while now, a month, give or take, according to him, and isnt neccessarily sensitive to it but knows it will help relieve some of the effects from the “bath salts” leaving his system.
Would appear to be a sedative that helps with PTSD, anxiety, and hallucinations;-
The interesting part of that is the end – “withdrawal can be done but with some benzodiasapenes AND SUPPORTIVE CARE”.
Making sense of the inside of PTSD is not at all easy. Whoever this is, let them understand – they have a future. People care about them.
Myself, I avoid pills and powders and go for meditation and self help. But then again, my traumas were not those of a member of the Marine Corps.
My point is – your supportive care, the social network your friend has in giving some hope and a future, is FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY DRUG.
It is apparently recommended that Phenibut is discontinued from time to time, to help with tolerance issues, and to help people learn to cope with stress without it.
Thanks again for replying to my question, i understand you have to go so ill make this real quick, if you are still able to stick around to see it lol but the phenibut he takes for anxiety/PTSD. he does not have access to benzo bc the drs, in their infinite wisdom, think that it is not a good idea to treat SWIM with benzos or for anyone with PTSD for that matter. i wont go into the specifics, but Phenibut affects Gabba-B in the brain, similar but not exactly like benzos/alcohol, etc which effect gabba-a. you may already be aware of this, I’m not sure, just spitting out the facts. The million dollar question that SWIM would like to know however is, in your OPINION, would something, like phenibut, be “safe” or however you would like to phrase it in SWIM’s current condition with the Methdadone & Bath Salts, still in his system….keeping in mind benzos are dangerous ant ANY time when taken with methadone
deja vu? … u only really need one thread per question…

Was a fastball. Had to react quick.
Hopefully resolved now, to the point where the person isn’t in a funk about mixing a drug to get rid of the funk… I hope!
for the record i generally only bothered taking cathinones in the last year when i had Heroin to mix with it… I’ve mixed heroin, ketamine, mephedrone, alcohol and valium before.
i never had an issue mixing downers with stims i actually found it made it better and nicer all in all, the only thing about it was it made cathinones (bath salts, mephedrone, 4mec etc) shit and horrible without opiates or benzos…. but they are horrible without them :S
but yeah it’s definitely not safe. some of the shit i’ve taken….! maybe i’m just lucky to be alive…
Pronoia is a neologism that is defined as the opposite state of mind as paranoia: having the sense that there is a conspiracy that exists to help the person. It is also used to describe a philosophy that the world is set up to secretly benefit people.
