its real – the link points to a bona fide conservation place with a map of confimed sightings shown on the North Norfolk coast, Horsey Gap is indexed by Defra RDS/Natural England or whatever they call themselves today as a SSSI and Conservation Area – and I have no reason to believe ButterflyMan is anything other than he claims to be.
its more a shame that he didn’t post this on here 5 or 6 years ago – when there were more people on the scene genuinely interested in environmental issues.
Have we just created another good reason NOT to party on this piece of land ….just for a while?
Must admit – Respect to ButterflyMan for the info.
TBH that reason always existed but I suspect the reason it wasn’t a big issue 6 years ago is that rigs and crowds were smaller – and those involved back then more environmentally aware…
until the Eastern clampdown Norfolk’s raves were also attracting many from SE England, displaced from areas where TVP/Beds/Hertspol had started clamping down, especially from 2005 onwards..
The place is locked down now and all approach roads monitored by locals, cops and conservationists anyway..
Ironically I find the “local” youth often less aware of their environment than someone like myself who originally grew up in a inner city!

That’s exactly the case.
Small parties had been going on down there for years 1999 -2005. The locations used avoided the conservation areas and roughly stuck to the car park area. As a result, they sailed by without anyone noticing (apart from the odd dog walker), no damage was done, litter was removed and no complaints were made.
Sadly, some people saw it as a soft target and from 2006 onwards it was a different story. Silly areas were used, large numbers of people and rigs, rubbish was left behind. 🙁
Thanks for the input Butterfly man.
