  • well, you never know when you may come in contact with a rudd or a zander lol

I think if I was in danger of bumping into a fish when soldering I’d have bigger safety concerns…

Thats very true, but would a soldering iron evenwork underwater?

I doubt it’s ever been tried.

by that point whatever vessel you are on is making water and sinking fast – and you are only going to be “naar de haaien” (swimming with the sharks) resoldering the joints on Davy Jones’ Locker (all that salt water corrodes them (aar). but even that probably requires lead free ROHS solder nowadays…

coincidentally this was on Caroline last night (they always used to play it loads). I always thought it was about something from the Victorian days but its within my lifetime (was about 3 then).

This Canadian dude has his own yacht and sails around the area (note proper maritime grade moustache)

The bulb is also xenophobic towards other kind of bulbs and do not mix well with them according no 32, 33 and 34

49 is a warning against English and Southern European wiring practices – from what I’ve seen of Northern European installs every piece of wire is correct to the last mm (especially with Germans). Far worse is up in my roofspace (must fix that sketchy connection to the bathroom light)

the warnings appear to contradict one another (perhaps there was a label with what numbers applied, I couldn’t find it). Anyway it all fitted correctly and the 6A breaker didn’t trip when I turned on so I’m happy with it (although it can be too bright when just playing music as its about 120W of halogens!) might relamp it to LEDs but them things are still pricier and sometimes I want loads of light for doing close work..

    33. enkel een globe gloeilamp met de aangegeven doorsneede. Gebruik voor dit armatuur nooit een standard gloeilamp

Use only a globe lamp with the specified diameter. Never use a standard size lamp (this is for fittings where a plastic bit fits around the lamp and a bigger one would foul it – but this is a 4 way GU10 fitting and they are all standard size!
