Sorry, copied from another post i made a bit ago, but…
It happens just down the road from me in Gisburn, Lancashire. It grew out of a well-known free party that regularly happened on the site that’s gone legit (Toil Soundsystem), and it attracts a lot of northern ravers – the atmosphere is as friendly as any free party and unlike any other festival I’ve been to. Also, there’s plenty of trippy shit to discover on the site, like working telephones that call across the site, and the underground tunnel that ends up in someones living room, and lots of dressing up and general sillyness.
The music is mainly dance-orientated – Toil have their rig set up in the woods, and there are various other local rigs in tents on the site. The main stage hosts bands, with better known artists headlining each night (Dub Pistols, Eat Static, Dreadzone, Banco di Gaia, Beardyman are a few I can remember).
It’s a pretty small fest (maybe 5000 at a guess?) and doesn’t seem to be getting any bigger now. Pretty cheap too, I think around £60 for 3 nights of music.

I’ll definitely go if I’m not working. I’d like to think that I’ll have a job by then that I won’t be able to get time off from, but the way things are looking just now that doesn’t seem likely.

Nah sorry, don’t think so. When I say it happens just down the road from me I’m actually in Hebden Bridge, but it’s still pretty local and most of Hebden emigrates to Lancashire every year for it.
