I’ve hit a point of fury now! I’ve had them nearly 3 yrs and i had them looking proper nice and now iv fucked them all up by just fiddling with them too much and cutting bits off!

There now all at different lengths and some are young and gay and sum are old and really tight!
I’ve talked about it with best mate and she has no words of advice for me because she doesn’t have dreads! In fact i don’t know anyone well who also has dreads to ask them…

So is there anyone out there who’s got any advice or help?

I’m petified of cutting them off, i really dont want it to be an option

I’ve kept it quiet for a while now but i really must get some comfort in knowing i’m not the only one who’s had this problem!

I’ve never had dreads myself so not too sure, what you wanting to do, get them looking healthy again?

i had dreads many many years ago i washed them out with loads of conditioner then brushed n combed them out over a few days bit at a time.
you loose alot of hair but most of that is what has formed up in the dreads. there dirty smelly things.
i had a mohawk after that with dreads at the back then just the dreads. the dreads got singed and burned when i caught fire so they got shaved off. I’ve had a skinhead ever since.

how long had u had them for before u got rid of them? some of mine are proper tight and fat right up to the root, i cant see any comb going through some of them and im a girl i dont see shaving my head being a option!

cathdreadhead has dreads, hers are really well managed as well. ill inform her of this thread cause she dont post much anymore. theres quite a few old threads on her about dreads. but im useless at findin old topics so you’ll have to get someone else to sort that out lol!:bounce_fl:bounce_fl

cant remember few years maybe, they look good on some people if there looked after. mine were all horible n dirty. let em go like that coz i was travling and it was low management when you live without running water. people realised it was easyer to have a skinhead in the end coz you can keep your hair clean with a bar of soap. :laugh_at:

just looked at a pig of me in 95 with no dreads so must of had em from 92 to 94

i duno im scared i’ll look better without them, think that scares me the most.
iv spent hundreds of pounds on mine over the years to keep em looking good, they just dont stay that way.
i dont think i could be happy with any other hair style if i got rid of them, and what if i totally regret it?? fuck no its not even worth thinking about!

really you hate them?? Dreads are cool you should try and fix em up and keep them….

I really would love to have dreads but they just would not suit me at all :hopeless:
