Someone stole the bolt that holds the back of my bike’s frame together and keeps the saddle in place last night. It’s weird they didn’t take the saddle so I can’t see the point of it. ANNOYED!

GRRR.. sorry to hear that… hope you get a new part soon.

In some areas of Reading I used to have to haul my bike and panniers up 3 flights of stairs when visiting friends as no way would I leave it locked up outside….

    Thanks… happens I guess!

Yeah this sort of thing does my head in. Had a saddle knicked before. I get the feeling its someone who has had a part stolen of their bike so they just knick it off another bike.

someone nicked my mate’s front brakes a while ago

    twats

arseholes. there was some bloke at a houseparty round mine a while back, and he was bragging about being a well cunning bike theif and there were a couple of coked up people going “oh thats so proffessional, stu, thats really amasing” i had a right fucking go at the lot of them i have to say. he said that he watched bikes and made notes of where they were parked, basically building up a picture of how long they were left and what parts he could get. ive had three bikes stolen now. two were locked, the other was stupidly stashed ina hedge. it was an original raleigh chopper. boo.

Nah, it used to go on round here a lot and it’s just people who take parts to sell on or build a complete new bike out of the parts. Harder to track that way.

I’ve had bar ends stolen and another time I had my seat and post swiped, nothing worse than that though. I’d be absolutely gutted if someone knicked my bike. Although they’d have a pretty hard time of it because I make sure wherever I go it can be secured in a building.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Site.

I spotted my old bike that got stolen a few years ago. Unfortunatly it was locked up in a busy area of town and i immediatly started an argument with the guy who claimed it was his and attracted alot of attention / witnesses. I should have kept my head down and ‘collected’ it later. Now ive got me bolt croppers and im getting it back when im in that part of town and a little more time has passed…

Out of the 3 bikes ive had stolen its the only one i havnt got back yet… :get_you:

    yet….

Also the bottom line is that when you see your stolen bike do not call the poilce etc.. its an absolute waste of time. Just smash em and nick it back.

my best friend had her new motorbike stolen from outside her boyf’s house this week,

second bike in 6 months, she’s well unlucky 🙁

    yargh

round here you just leave them lying about, preferably in the middle of the road for maximum inconvenience to others..

when i lived in a city i used to get the mounts into which my lights clipped nicked tho’
    :alien_abd

Every bike I have ever owned (apart from the one i own now) has been stolen.

    SCUM !!

    They ave got tactics!

The scum will nick it, then hand it in to police n if it aint collected in a couple of weeks its legally theirs!
